Say something... anything deep in your heart: your joy, disappointment, good days, bad days, ...

and I can say that these Olympics in which I was looking so forward to for motnhs has been a complete disappointment, mainly due to the fact that all the Irish team seem to be jinxed (either due to car crashes, drug scandals or niggling injuries) before they even compete in any of the events. of course today just topped it all off with Venus and Chanda losing so easily:mad:

I was disappointed when Marcos Baghdatis (our only Cypriot player) lost to Keifer but that fact that a player ranked 279 in the world is just 19 years old can give a player ranked 14th and is in great form this summer such a hard time is kinda good.....I was disappointed that Eleni after getting back in the match with Myskina at 5/4 and 0/30 then duce to loose in 2 sets.....I am so happy that french tennis players are doing well because they are my favourites and I hope they both win medals because they both deserve it....I was very upset that Andy lost today because I admire the fighting spirit and spontenousity in this player and I love his passion for tennis.....although I'm not a Justine fan but it is always good to see a top player back to form.....

I'm glad the US women hold the record now in the 800 relay.

Aug 18th, 2004, 07:26 PM
I am happy for the US team, won the most medals so far and have 8 gold medals and counting!! Can't wait for track and field, that's where the medals will start to stack up on the US side.

Anyway I'm very disappointed for tennis, all my faves were kicked off. Huge disappointment, Dementieva, Venus, Roddick, Fererro, Federer, etc. It's such a huge loss that none of these top players are still in.

But I wish to all those players left luck.

Go Team USA! Still counting on the US team left in Tennis, Fish, Bryan bros, etc good luck! We're counting on you to bring a medal home! Go Team USA!

USA just won a 9th gold medal by the US swim team.

Tennis: A little disappointed the American women faltered today in singles.

Rest of the Olympics: Glad to see some surprises by Americans such as the women in Fencing who have won two medals for the first time and can you say CAN'T TOUCH THIS about the women's softball team or what?

Michael Phelps is cute. Extremely proud of the UK badmington pairing who made it into the finals today. Im happy Kelly Holmes has decided to double up the 800m and 1500m at the Olympics and i'm disappointed that Henman, Roddick, Federer, Daniilidou and Venus are out of the Olympics.

China 14 Gold to US 10! Just amazing! I suppose 1.3 billion people do count for something.

Canada, Just 1 Bronze so far! :o

Justine is currently one set away from the Semis.

Aug 19th, 2004, 05:28 PM
I am pretty ^(^&%&$#% pissed i have not seen a point yet.

Aug 20th, 2004, 07:29 AM
The tennis competition (if you can call it that) is pants. Just about everything else is pretty exciting.

And finally the Brits are starting to win a few medals!

BBC TV coverage is awesome and the commentary/anchor teams are, as ever, knowledgeable and entertaining .

Aug 20th, 2004, 08:05 AM
Heaps of upsets...

Aug 20th, 2004, 08:08 AM
Seriously, I never thought that Feddie, Roddick, JCF and Vee would go out so early! From a tennis point of view though.
Otherwise, I thought we did really well in swimming...Upsetting Phelps and Hoogie along the way...

Aug 20th, 2004, 08:33 AM
i dnt really fancy a medal for our country as i know it would take a hell of a miracle for an athlete from the philippines to win in the Olympics, so i am not disappointed in any way.

My favorites were doing well in Athens:

Justine just in for the semis and Svetlana Khorkina won the silver in all around gymnastics.

by the end of this olympics, my two faves shall have with them a gold medal apiece.
Juju in tennis & khorkina in the Assymetric bars.

I couldn't care for any other sport. as far as the games run, its very good for me.

Aug 20th, 2004, 08:38 AM
Hey I dont know about Phelps being upset, he was a little overrated I think.
Hoogie on the otherhand was the fastest qualifier for the 200m but Thorpie was just too strong.

I was happy for the 17 y/o dude who won bronze for us in the Archery, it was a great effort :yeah:
...and Alicia's still alive in the tennis so we're going pretty well.
The metal will stop flowing though when the swimming stops and the Athletics gets under way :(

Aug 20th, 2004, 08:57 AM
One word - Alicia Molik :worship:

Oh, and our Swimming team has gone orright too :D

Aug 20th, 2004, 09:14 AM
can't say much, since i don't get any tv coverage of the tennis event...
Anyway, i'm happy that Momo is thru to the SF:D

Aug 20th, 2004, 09:45 AM
I'm in love with ALL the male kayakers. They are just totally hunky and lush (at least from the waist up!). :hearts:

Aug 20th, 2004, 12:09 PM
A little disappointing for me until now because of Eleni,Venus early defeats,Popov, unknown in swimming, and Khorkina being only second.

But,but, with athletics starting I hope some of my faves can save it.+ in tennis would be awesome if Momo wins gold, and the pair Conchita/Vivi does the same.I think if these 2 things happen I'll cry of joy.And I also expect good things in basket.
