Congrats Alicia! She won 32/33 pts on her first serve!

I hope she can serve like that in her QF match aswell....playing against either Sugiyama or Sprem will be tough - she'll need to be serving VERY well!!!!

And yeah - Molik's serve has been considered one of the best serves for quite a while...it's very quick and she has a great kick serve!

Awesome win for Alicia! :bounce:

She always plays her best for Australia.

17 Aces in two sets and only one point lost on 1st serve in the whole match. I think in Set 1 half her 1st serves were Aces!!!

I also am worried that Alicia is playing too much tennis. It's possible for her to go further in both the singles and the doubles draw here at the Olympics, and if she does and still plays New Haven I am very worried she will be very tired for the US Open.

I'd much rather her pull out of New Haven so that she can refresh and focus on the US Open.

GO ALICIA!!!

Molik's chances against Ai I would say are quite good. I hope the best for her.

Her serving was great today!! Glad to see her playing consistently well finally!

Even though she was serving well Raymond is not a good returner at all and Ai is known for her great returning and she played a big server in Sprem today. Should be a great match though!

wow congrats Alicia  :worship:

Lisa  Nice effort against the hot Aussie and a good tournament though with two solid wins. Hopefully this will give her confidence in singles play. Now keep going in dubs! :yippee:

Alicia :yeah: What an impressive tournament so far. That serve.... Nice to see you finally closing in on that top 20 spot! Keep it up! :D

Lisa  Good run, and better luck next time. I thought this season had a lot of potential for you to be a top 20 player again after the AO... But at least you're finding some form and playing good matches again! Keep it up!
