Liz, you should be happy with the UFE count. Vee needs to come out of the gate like this in every match and she will definitely defend her gold medal title.

The thing with inconsistency is this could be the match petrova or mary choose to show up in. Either way, go Vee all the way!:hearts:

actually the sisters have been known for coming up with the goods against tough opponents even though they have had easy matches.

venus has been playing pro's for more than 10 years, i think she knows what needs to happen even if she were to face Jusitne in the 1st round.

it will be somewhat difficult, but venus has not had "usual" problems against Justine. She is the type of player Venus knows what she has to do to get in there and out in about an hour and 20 minutes.

its official WORST MATCH OF THE YEAR

Poo rMaja that was just a horror to watch she couldnt hit a ball in court, Venus I think wasent hitting as hard towards and still the balls flew out. Venus did well to keep her consistancy, cos its hard when a player is playing as bad as Maja was to keep your level up.

Venus doesn't double bagel people often. Even the really low ranked players like Matevzic usually get a few games from Venus' errors or loss of focus. She's making a statement.

Hey, this is just like a GS or Tier I with both mens and womens.

Only you get TierIIa point for playin I believe.

I think there is a 3rd Round and then Quarters...but I would be surprised if it was just Quarters now.

Anyone know how big the draw was?

The standard is using last names first, in the even that 2 players have the same you either use the first name or attach the initial to the last name. It might not be in the Rulebook but its Common Sense.

Yes, in the even that two players have the same name that would be common sense but Vee and Matevizic does not have the same last name so, I do not know what your point is wanting others to use the young ladies last name. Help me out here.

Becasue of the schedule (the tennis season is still in operation unlike other team sports that are in the Olympics), the tennis part of the Olympics ends on Sunday. That means that the women players who advance play every day until the medal round on Saturday (3rd round is tomorrow, QF is on Thursday, SF is on Friday). The losers of the semifinals play for the bronze medal and the winner of the SF, of course, play to see who wins the gold medal and the silver medal.

BTW, only the top half of the women's draw got a day off; the bottom half plays every day.
