Do you think there will be some unexpected players, WTA and ATP, to win a medal at Athens? I am pretty sure, we will see some unseeded players in the final rounds. Many seeds lost on the men`s side and on the women`s side Dementieva is gone. Think, players like Henin-H., Mauresmo, Federer, Roddick will definately be there in the final rounds but I believe we will see some surprising medal winners on both sides.

Hope, Venus, Mary, Chanda, Alicia and Paola can win as many as possible!

I won't be surprised with Ai winning one but it will be a big surprise for the media in general if she wins a medal whatever color it is.

Theres a few dangerous floaters in the draw, namely Sprem, Schnyder, Sugiyama.

Max Mirnyi could manage to get a medal considering how fast courts are. He's definately a dangerous floater

I dont know, the more I think of it...the more I believe tennis should boycott the olympics. I might get bad repped for this and I'm extremely sorry if anyone is insulted.

But Marat Safin said it best....we already have 4 Grand Slams every season. We have a 42 week season with 42 tournaments and everyone plays tons of tournaments. All other sports just have 3 or less big events...and its not as arduous.

I dont think the IOC and Olympic Spectators give tennis and its players the respect they need.

Now that I got that out of my system...I think we will see the same winners from every year.

Roddick might have a shot at beating Federer seeing as we have super fast courts...and in the ladies...I'm hoping Venus does a gold double-peat.

GO USA! :)

Love tennis at the Olympics (Jen Gold, Lindsay Gold, Mary-Joe and Gigi twice Gold, Arnaud di Pasquale Bronze), will miss it if they ban this sport from the Olympics....

Marat lost today versus Lopez... Think, Kiefer and Mirnyi have a great chance to get deep into the tournament... :)

Fantastic

I'm barracking for Kiefer in the mens' draw, but Federer is still the man to beat for Gold.

If Amelie balls it up, there could be a surprise Silver (or Gold) medallist. If Justine, Venus or Anastasia balls it up, there could be surprises all around. Those four are the players to beat for a medal.

Amelie, people still don't expect her to win in big situations, venus ditto amelie, justine coming off an ailment. Anyone of them will still be a surprise, myskina perhaps not so shocking.
