Myskina Wins a Thriller, Meets Davenport in Final
In the most gripping match of the season, No.3-seeded Russian Anastasia Myskina has beaten compatriot and No.12 seed Vera Zvonareva, 62 67(4) 76(15), to reach the final of the $1.3 million Acura Classic in San Diego. The 32-point third-set tie-break was the longest of 2004 and the longest final-set tie-break in a singles match in the history of the WTA Tour.
Earlier Saturday, No.4 seed Lindsay Davenport moved to within one match from winning her third WTA Tour event in three weeks, defeating No.5 seed Elena Dementieva 62 64.
