They're certainly the best (or at least the second best behind Fernandez/Zvereva) doubles team of the last 10 or 15 years...they've won every tournament imaginable except Wimbledon (and they still have a few more chances to pull that off), they've been #1 for a long time...do you guys think they deserve it?

i think suarez definately deserves it, she's been top 10 in singles and has her doubles career. ruano pascual probably deserves it also for her doubles.

Well i honestly think they are pretty over rated, but its not their fault that Hingis is not playing doubles anymore and Venus, Serena and Lindsay are not playing that much either. I would put any former number one doubles team against Ruano and Suarez and i can not imagine them beating them, they have filled the hole that right now exists in doubles.
Arantxa/Jana, Natasha/Gigi, Navratilova/Shriver, Hingis with anyone would route this team.
This to related to the comment about them being the second best team behind Gigi/Natasha.
But yes i think they would be hall of famers sometime, who knows.

Some thing they're over rated and others thing are under rated... everyone can tell what he wants but Vivi/Poli's results will remain

They are the best of the teams who are playing....but they ainīt no way the best team since Gigi/ Natasha...because there are still too many teams that can beat them on any given day. Martina H/ anyone totally pummels them, Williams/Williams idem ditto. Kim/Ai used them as their personal playtoy and now Nadia/Meghan too.

if they've won the slams and held down the #1 ranking for awhile then who cares if they did all this during the absence of better doubles teams? steffi's final gs singles tally wouldn't even be as high if monica hadn't been stabbed. vivi and paola get my vote for hof just for fulfilling the requirements.

Uhum...but the poster said that they were best team since such and such. Not true, because even now they arenīt the best...just happens that they play more often and there arenīt that many good teams.

Paola deserve it sure -singles and doubles at the same time, top ten and number one-
possibly Virginia too.

If Dorothy Dodo Cheney can get in, I think Paola and Vivi can as well.

Maybe many teams can defeat them but if they are not playing (venus/serena, etc) that is not Vivi and Poli fault.
If Poli was not Southamerican I was sure they would introduce them in the hall of fame..

About Wimbledon, they have just one chance, Poli (Paola Suarez) announced sheīll retire this year, but Vivi (Virginia Ruano Pascual) is trying to convince her to stay. Not everybody knows this but Vivi is a year [I]older[/B] than Poli :)

And what about table tennis world champions?
Will they be admitted into the HoF?
(It's tennis after all .... )

Well, even Seles will be a Hall-of-Famer one day.
Although she would have about 3 slams (maximum) if Graf hadn't suffered bigtime from the 1990 family blackmail scandal.

Sorry, but NO.

I think they both deserve to be based on all that they've accomplished as a doubles team, it's more than enough to put them in.

Sir, it's the Hall of Fame, not the Madison Square Garden or the Astrodome .....

No. They are not loosing very often, but they do. Too much.
