What's more annoying to you, the tunnel-vision fan or the anti-fan.

Some characteristics of the tunnel-vision fan (a.k.a. people blinded by their fandom)
they perceive the most benign comments (and sometimes non-comments) as an insult to their favorite
they invade other threads and somehow make it about their favorite
they tear down players that could be a threat to their favorite in some way (whether on or off court) and belittle their accomplishments
they constantly make excuses for their favorites and/or the people associated with them
they attack other fans who aren't a fan of their player, criticize their player (even if that person's a fan), or sometimes fans who just aren't complimentary enough
they constantly make stupid threads about their favorite

Some characteristics of the anti-fan
they constantly make stupid threads criticizing a certain player
they attack other fans that dislike that player
they invade cheer threads to crap on the parade
they revel in every disappointment that player faces
they twist everything that player does, says, or has said about them to make them look bad
if that player does do something questionable, they bring it up for months, or even years, no matter what kind of circumstances there were, how young that player was, or how much that player has since changed
they belittle any accomplishment that player had

the anti-fan and the tunnel-vision fan generally have more than one of the above aspect

I personally find the tunnel-visioners more annoying because they tend to pervade the board as a whole. At least the anti-fan's annoying comments generally stick to topics about the players they hate so are easier to avoid.

I dislike tunnel-vision fans just purely because everything they say is about THEIR fave.
I can deal with anti-fans. everyone is an anti fan somehow.

every fan is like that. so ur saying u hate all fans. every fan is a tunnel vision fan, and an anti fan. that's what makes sports what it is. no matter how bad your favorite player, team, or athlete is in your eyes they are the best. that's the fun in rooting for them. they are the best in your eyes, and that's all that matters. tunnel vision is normal for any fan. everyone is biased toward their favorite player or always sticks with them, and brings them up in the conversation. it's the lifestyle of sports, and it's the way it works. no sports fan can like them all because if they say they do they aren't a true sports fan. a true sports fan has tunnel vision, and is an anti fan.

I think the 'anti-fans' or haters are the most pathetic. They are mostly trolls with nothing better to do than create other names to put down players and create controversies. At the least the 'tunnel vision' fans like certain players and say positive things about them, but the haters only live to put down others, and most of the time you cant even tell what players they like because everything they write is negative. They arent real tennis fans and have nothing constructive to contribute to the board.

I despise anti-fan

the proof is when a Williams Sister loses then this board becomes inflammed by them. Say what you want - anti-fan is a "HATER"

and everybody knows that a "hater" is just plain Jealous.

I would go with the tunnel-fans who usually cannot accept that there are other players that can have talent and play better than their favourite. :p

You left off an option. What about fans that can't handle the truth about Maria that they make up polls to get back at people who tell the truth about her and her inablities to be two dimentional.

I don't see why you people get so defensive when it comes to telling the truth about Maria i mean people on this board have wanted the WS baned from tennis, even sport commentators have said that the WS were bad for tennis the exact same thing they said before blacks were able to play tennis and other sports. I think that is where the problem lies you all can hate on the WS all you want but how dare we say anything negative about the precious, the beautyful, white Maria, but I guess if she were black it would be a different story. A lot of you would just want me and others to set back say nothing :tape: , but how many of you have gotten on this board and said the WS were bad for tennis without having prejudice behind it.

So your problem is personal.....

You mean that we offend the Williams Sisters with our commentaries, and we want Maria to win because of ethnical prejudice?

I am a great fan of Maria and I have never even thought of such a low thing... I think you are lost....

I hate anti-fans. Its so much easier to tear someone down than to support someone, it takes no thought whatsoever. At least the delusional fans are actually supporting someone.

But what i hate more than anti-fans....

Anti-fans disguising themselves as a "fan" of the players they bash and there are a handful out there.

Offending the WS is one of the reason I don't see why white people can't give them credit for what they have done for tennis, but I guess it's a mistake to wait for white folks to give us credit for the good things we do, but as soon as things go wrong you come looking for us. Example, the WS are bad for tennis because they win to much translation the WS are bad for tennis because not enough white girls win.

Tazban1, these "two" groups of people are one in the same. Often the anti-fan is simply a fanatical fan of a particular player and becomes an "anti-fan" when another player either beats their favorite or receives "unjustified" media attention. See: Too many posters on this board to name.

2 months ago, I would have said anti-fans (there are many haters of Justine).

But now with some Sharapova fans, I'm saying both.

Unfortunately, racism does play a big part in some people's perceptions about players... but really, it still reflects as tunnel vision or player hating. If a white person only wants to see the WS lose because they are black (player hating), there isn't really a world of difference between that and a black person who wants to see them beat down the white girls because they are black (tunnel vision). These types of people are certainly out there, but there aren't as many as it seems... it's just that the ones who are like that tend to make a hell of a lot more noise than the ones who aren't... but we should avoid making sweeping generalizations about why someone may like or dislike any given players based on the color of their skin. Lord knows I've been accused of it while trying to explain to someone that I like the WS because of the way they have elevated women's tennis to a higher level of competition and athleticism regardless of what color their skin is, and then someone jumps in my thread saying something like, "BEAT THAT WHITE GIRL'S ASS SIS!" Kinda hard to be convincing when you have that crap going on in the background.

I don't know one not one white person who like the WS or will give them one bit of credit for elevating tennis, most of the time I hear them say they are to arrogant one even said they are just to good, but my point is the same people who love Maria's style of game hate the WS and to me they have the same mannerism with the exception that Maria being white, but as I stated before white players can get away with alot of things that black players can't, look at Andy Roddick yall love him and say his mannerism is good for the game.

I don't understand the anti-fans who claim to hate a player and the player sucks, isn't great, was lucky, was evil etc. etc but still 99,9% of the time their posts are about that player. they have a total obsession. They fascinate me. I think they helped me to get an interest in sociology

Seems like an anti and tunnel vision fan. Brings up Maria in a thread that has nothing to do with her to hate on her and on her fans
