omg that injury is bad. OMG why does Acura Classics cause everyone to get injured. Serena, Venus got injured last year around this time and now they have it again. Ugh.

Well if it is in fact jammed like she says it is, it's not a huge injury. It's just painful after you do it.

Absolutely bizarre match. Lindsay played a solid first set, not letting Elena into the match. Then Elena picked up her game early in the second, being more aggressive and hitting some nice winners and beautiful drop shots. Lindsay on the other hand started hitting a lot more unforced errors in the second set, and was not good at all at the net the whole match. Lots of missed volleys, some real sitters.

Then came the third game of the second set, where Lindsay got the break after some atrocious line calls - both players had some go against them, but Elena ended up getting screwed worse there. After that, Elena has her leg taped for a right thigh strain, and Lindsay gets it to 5-2 with Elena not looking like she's moving well. But then, Lindsay jams her knee at 5-3, and plays cautiously from then on... At around that time, Elena starts playing very well again. Moving well and hitting big groundstrokes, looking better than she did even before her thigh injury.

Just a bizarre match. Good win, Lindsay... But I hope your knee feels alright for the final. Worrying about injuries and playing cautiously won't cut it - Elena almost got that second set back on serve. Lindsay can't make that many mistakes in the final. Good fight, Elena. Good luck in the final, Lindsay. Stay healthy, both of you! :D

I hope she is ok for tomorrow. Good match, I thought Elena was really gonna come back in the 2nd set, but credit to Lindsay, she just did enough.

i think she'll be okay.
i didn't see the jammed knee thing and when i heard it i was a little surprised.
i thought it looked like lindsay may have goteen just a tad tired and discouraged from a few of elena's screaming winners that looked like desperation shots that she just kept hitting for a while in the match.

I think it happened on a point at 5-3 when Elena wrong-footed her with a forehand cross-court. Lindsay lunged for it a bit awkwardly. Her level of play dropped around then, and Elena just had some insane winners to get herself back into the match.

Was it just me, or did some of Lindsay's second serves look really, really shaky towards the end?

Yep, Lindsay's 2nd serve speed dipped very low.

Had Elena got the bad linecall game (which she had won, except for a VERY bad linecall) and stayed healthy, I think she would have taken Lindsay out.

Elena was NOT hitting her Bhs well after the injury. Solid, but not enough zip.

And she still has played Lindsay more tough than anyone barring Venus at BOW. Imagine Elena healthy. I hope she withdraws from Toronto.

Hopefully Lindsay vs Nastya, a great way to settle the ranking debate :)

Lindsay played really awkwardly towards the end of the 2nd set, indeed her serves weren't working and her 2nd serves started to slow down... linds i hope you're okay?!
