Jen and Serena wound up in the same quarter (when don't they) but it's very likely Serena's going to pull out. I would guess Jen is ready to play since she usually pulls out before the draw is made.

Great to see Maria has entered Montreal! And she even gets a reasonable draw...

Go Maria!

I'm not sure it's quite that reasonable. She could end up facing Mary, Vera, Elena, Amelie, and either J-Cap or Serena (if she attends); in that order. That's a pretty scary draw in my opinion. :scared:

These two just always seem to draw each other, it's truly a weird twist of fate. Serena will pull put which should open the draw up very nicely for Jennifer. She has a great chance of making the finals. She always plays well in Canada

It's tough, but better than the 4 Grand Slam Champions back to back (Venus, Myskina, Serena, Davenport) that Maria faced in the original draw for San Diego.

True; that was one whacked out original draw for San Diego!

After Maria's relatively decent draw at Wimbledon leading up to the SFs and Final; it doesn't look like things will be easy for Maria from hear on out with regards to her draws in big events. Wonder what her draw for New Haven and the U.S. Open will be like. :scared:

Actually Maria's draw for Wimbledon gave her Myskina, Sugiyama, Davenport and Venus. Myskina was replaced by Frazier, but I still wouldn't call that too weak a draw.

New haven will probably see a lot of withdrawals IMO, because of the Olympics, so may not be too bad.

The US Open with 32 seeds and rest days between matches will hopefully take the sting out of any ugly draws. However players under-ranked because of injury time-outs (Venus, Serena, Kim) could unbalance the draw.

Serena won't play. Jennifer...she sort of needs to play something before Athens...

Atrixo, Maria's Wimbledon draw doesn't look easy if you project the highest seeds into the corresponding round like you're doing with this draw. The Wimbledon draw fell apart, and I can almost guarantee this one won't wind up as you projected it. It just usually doesn't.

I don't actually think this is a very hard draw for her at all. It's a Tier I, afterall.

My bad; I forgot to take that into account for the Wimbledon draw. Whoops! :o

it actually could be a very good draw for chanda because there's a good chance serena will withdraw which would really open it up for her

This is a pretty nice draw for Miss. D. Hantuchova! She has to face Loit, Sugiyama, Sprem, Mauresmo, than probably Sharapova. All of which she has beaten this year!!

Omg this Jen and Serena matchup in the quarters in really getting on my nerves. It would be so much better if it would change for once. But what can you do about it??? Go Jen!!! Here is your chance!!!

Jen and Serena are bonded for life but right now there is no gurantee both could make the quarters. Serena has that knee and jen is coming off an injury. we can only wait and see how their bodies hold up. Just when I thought injuries were finally behind us wit the exception of the belgians, I hope it is not anything serious.

Well, I hope they do make the quarters. I want to this Canadian Open to be magical:).
And top 8 seeds seem to be set for quarterfinals. I anticipate a super Friday:D.

Great draw for maria, not many really hard players to beat in her half of the draw. Could get to final or maybe even win it.

Serena said she wasnt going to pull out because the WTA would fine her for not fulfilling her commitments.. SO i dont think she is going to... she just needs some rest

Yes we know that, but c'mon, Canadian Open is such a special tournament.
Let's hope she does come here and play.
It sounds like if she loses, it'll be WTA's faults, but let's hope not.
The opening round should be a breeze, she cant lose that:o.
