"Stole" by Kelly Rowland fits Monica's career pretty well, don't you think? (her life was stole/oh now we'll never know...)

Serena's game lately could be summarized by "Foolish Games" by Jewel, if one substitutes the figurative meaning of "games" for the literal, and substitute "brain" for heart:tape: . "These foolish games/are tearing me apart/and your brain's thoughtless ways/are breaking my heart."

Any others?

Serena when she's playing well is "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. If she gets on a role, a "Seven nation army couldn't hold (her) down," and there are lots of other possible parallels in the song to Serena (unintentional, of course.)

Ain't Gonna Look the Other Way = Jennifer Cappy

Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way by Celine Dion

Used to be easy, used to have truth hangin' round
Never had secrets, always singing your praises now good and loud
All I got is questions, and you left me wondering why
Why you keep your distance, every lonely night

When love was bound together
We lived it by the letter
Can't close my eyes forever
'Cause everything has changed and now

Chorus:
I ain't gonna look the other way
No no
'Cause after all the clouds go by, its just another empty sky
I aint gonna wait to see the rain
No no
Nothin's gonna make it right, look at me 'cause I choose life

It's all about giving, it's not about winning the game
My mind was open, ready or not you closed it up again
Still I keep asking, if you got something to hide
I never stop learning, all the reasons why

It took about a minute
To find the point and hit it
Gotta take this life and live it
'Cause everyting has changed and now

Chorus

When all the lights go out so suddenly, I lose my way
Baby tell me
Is something going on
You gotta free me, this time I'm gonna be strong

Chorus

Anna Kournikova--When the Lights Go Down, by Faith Hill

When the Lights go down,
She'll be callin her friends from her Mercedes Benz,
but it's too late now...
They were there for the fame, the flash and the thrill,
the drop of the name, the parties, the pills,
as another star falls from the Hollywood hills, without a sound,

When the lights go down, and there's nothing left to be,
When the lights go down, and the truth is all you see,
when you feel that hole inside your soul,
and wonder what you're made of, well, we all find out,
when the lights go down.

Before the Miami 03 final they played Vanessa Carlton's "Watch Me Shine" while airing flashes of Serena's Dominance..."better watch out, going for the knockout - and I would stop till I'm on top now - I'm taking over here so watch me shiiiiiiiine." At the time it was very appropriate for Serena's Career.

I'm only gonna do this with songs I love ...

Justine Henin-Hardenne - I wish by Skee-Lo
(quote: "I wish I was little bit taller ... I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat and a six four Impala")

Kim Clijsters - My favourite game by The Cardigans
(quote: "I'm losing my favourite game, you're losing your mind again ... you're losing a saviour and a saint")

Amelie Mauresmo - Lovely Head by Goldfrapp
(quote: "It starts in my belly, Then up to my heart, Into my mouth I can’t keep it shut ... Frankenstein would want your mind your lovely head")

The Russian brigade - Sing it back by Moloko
(quote: "Bring it back, Sing it back, Bring it back, Sing it back to me ...I am the zombie your wish will command me")

Jennifer Capriati - Erase/Rewind by the Cardigans
(quote: Erase and rewind, 'cause I've been changing my mind, I've changed my mind ... So where did you see me go, It's not the right way, you know, where did you see me go")

Anna Kournikova - Cherry lips by Garbage (alternative "Stupid Girl" or "Shut your mouth" by Garbage ... I think Shirley Manson made all her hefty songs with Anna K. in my mind ;) )
(quote: "She gave you everything she had, But she was young and dumb, She'd just turned 21, She didn't care to hang around, So when the shit came down why she was nowhere to be found, This life can turn a good girl bad, She was the sweetest thing that you had ever seen ... With your cherry lips and golden curls, You could make grown men gasp when you go walking past, And in your hot pants and high heels, They could not believe that such a body was for real, It seemed like rainbows would appear, Whenever you came near the clouds would disappear, Because you looked just like a girl, Your baby blues would flash and suddenly a spell was cast)

Sesil Karatancheva - Megalomania by Muse
(quote: "I know that underneath it's me, Useless device, it won't suffice, I want a new game to play ... It won't be long, before i disturb you in the dark")

Maybe there's more to come. I've gotta go now ...

Alexandra Stevenson, Jelena Dokic, Mirjana Lucic "HELP" by the Beatles ;) :help:

Help! I need somebody,
Help! not just anybody,
Help! you know I need someone, help.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind I've opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being around.
Help me get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But ev'ry now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being around.
Help me get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind I've opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh.

Vee and Serena - Can´t be stopped by Janet Jackson

Nothing's gonna stop us
We can't be stopped

I know that it's not been easy
Trying to make it in this crazy world
People 'round you try to stop you
Stomp you saying that you don't belong

You must remember that
We were born with blood of kings and queens
And can't be stopped
Stay stronger my sister you can't be stopped
No, you can't be stopped

I know that sometimes
You get to feelin' I've given up on you
The pressure seems to, to defeat you
Beat you when you feel you can't go on

You must remember that
You were born with blood of kings and queens
And can't be stopped
Stay stronger my brother you can't be stopped
No, you can't be stopped

Don't ever let nobody tell you you ain't strong enough
Strong enough, don't let nobody tell you you ain't
Strong enough, don't let nobody tell you

You know that I will be right here
To remind you that we need
Togetherness, 'cause lost pride
Has no room, if you don't forget
Where you come from

For Jen (written by the great Joni Mitchell)

Both Sides Now
Judy Collins

Bows and flows of angel hair, and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done, but clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real, I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show, you leave 'em laughin when you go
And if you care don't let them know, don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say, "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say
I've changed
But something's lost, but something's gained, in living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
