I dont know what to believe - Ive heard Kim says she wont be back until after the USO then I hear her dad has faxed people at the Pilot Pen Open saying she will definately be there. I won t believe it either unitl Kim says it herself - would love everyone back healthy for the USOpen :) what a slam it would be!

She has a new check-up in a few days and only then she'll probably decide about when she'll come back.

Unfortunately there won't be much room left for her when she comes back. A certain Maria Sharapove took over the tour and started dominating. Kim should have won a Slam or two before the blonde beauty emerged. I'm pretty sure that Kim is regretting she didn't do it sooner. She must be wishing she could turn the clock back.
Poor Kimmy, she will have little to chance to get back to where she was before she got injured. Now, Maria will be too much for her. The same goes about Justine but she should be able to handle Maria's powerful yet versatile game betta.

Hey, don't forget Maria is now 10000 notches better than she was back then. Kim should be ready for a similar outcome with her on the losing side next time they face off.

back then is defined as less than a year..? maria doesn't seem to be very much different this whole year... kim should be able to handle her convincingly. unless kim's head gets screwed up...

the thing is:kim said she wouldn't come BEFORE her injury seemed to heal much better than expected...so it's POSSIBLE she'll play :)

A certain Maria Sharapove took over the tour and started dominating.

If Maria is dominating Women Tennis, then what did Justine do last year, Serena 2 years ago, Hingis at her time ???
Or maybe it was a joke you made ?

Jul 28th, 2004, 03:00 PM
wow, Maria wins one tournament and people think she is dominating. Anyway...that Fan Zone is not always correct. Even after they had the article about Justine pulling out of San Diego and Montreal, they still had her listed for those tournaments. So that is not always reliable.

If Maria is dominating the tour, then why is Lindsay the holder of two hardcourt titles and the sisters appeared in both finals?

I made the mistake of thinking Venus could be at the level she was when she first came back, so if Kim does appear in New Haven, I won't expect her to win, but I don't think she will lose early either.

Maria, to date, has only beaten two players in the top ten, so it remains to be seen if she can handle the others.

I'm not entirely convinced she'll play, but it's a good sign that the WTA now at least has put a schedule for Kim in the fanzone-section, yesterday nothing was standing next to her name yet! but, I guess we'll just have to wait for an announcement from Kim...

i hope so but i cant trust www.wtatour.com (http://www.wtatour.com/) anymore.

look at the upcoming schedules about Anastasia Myskina. they said;

5. Myskina - Montreal, Sopot, US Open

that means she will play at Canada, then go to Poland (for clay court  ), and then fly back to NY. why the hell she would do that?

this section is totally bullshit :o

Actually she is playing Athens after Poland, the fact WTA didnt list it makes me believe that they are regarding Olympics as extra event, so they probably will not mind awarding SR to the Williams sisters, but that's another matter.
Otherwise, I would love to see see her in Vancouver.
