If what has happened to the Williams possibly happen to the belgians, if so could Amelie,Maria,Myskina and possibly Dementieva take over
Kim & Justine = Serena & Venussteve992004 Jul 27th, 2004, 09:29 PM If what has happened to the Williams possibly happen to the belgians, if so could Amelie,Maria,Myskina and possibly Dementieva take over Spunky83 Jul 27th, 2004, 09:38 PM If that´s a question...yes. You seem to be new here, maybe you can find some (of the many) threads which were posted not long ago. If you calculate, you will find out that Davenport, Myskina and Mauresmo can be number one very likely by the time around the US Open. I can give you a short summary though...a lot of people think that Momo doesn´t deserve her number one spot cause she never won a GS. A lot of people also think that Myskina won´t become number one cause she sucks on US hardcourts, but that means she has little points to defend this year. Davenport is very likely to become number one due to her brillant run, no one can say anything negativ about Davenport. I guess that´s it. I´m not sure if Sharapova can become number one. She has to win some tourneys to do so. Elena? Don´t think she will play that succesful. Have I forgotten someone? steve992004 Jul 27th, 2004, 09:58 PM Maybe Capriati or in the long run Kuznetsova Leo_DFP Jul 27th, 2004, 10:01 PM The Belgians will have their work cut out for them when they return, to say the least. The many members of Russian gang are finally getting it together mentally and are now able to actually win the big titles; Davenport is re-invigorated and playing possibly her best tennis since 2000; Mauresmo is always a threat; Capriati is still around, etc. I don't see any particular player "taking over," though. At least not for a while. This upcoming year or two is going to have several Slam contenders and winners. Hant Hant Jul 27th, 2004, 10:19 PM it's like a curse, who ever reaches the top doesn't stay there for long. they will most likely get injured (seles, hingis, venus, serena, justine, kim, etc.) Cybelle Darkholme Jul 27th, 2004, 10:23 PM well we dont know about kim but didnt justine already come back at the french and lose early? she rushed things imo. The tour is different. How quickly things change. There are more players not only capable of beating justine and kim and serena and venus but they are unafriad of doing it. They will take their chances and run with it. However all this means is that instead of four slam contenders we now have eight to ten possibly more. Which is good! shap_half Jul 27th, 2004, 10:44 PM Justine rushed things at the French but as you can see she's not making that mistake twice. She's not coming back unless she's 100%. And when she returns, she'll be sitting on top of everyone. | |
