Iím an avid Seles fan, but do you seriously think she has the credentials to win a major? Sheís had injury after injury, with a mental breakdown to boot! Could she cope with the rigours of the modern game, and win another major trophy.
A few have remarked on her weight problem and eating disorder as reasons she has fallen by the wayside, but I think itís just plain ridicule. If Monica attended a therapist Iím positive she could overcome many of her problems, and be back to her best within the next few years. Who knows, maybe she can win that Wimbledon title, that so many thought she incapable of attaining.

Good luck Monica, we all miss you!:)

I like Monica and all, but there's no way she can win another major. Sadly enough, I don't think she'll return to competitive tennis :(

I do think Monica will make a return to the tour, but no matter what my heart tells me, my head says that she will not win another major. If she can come back and string a few wins together, she will still be an asset to the game. What I would hate to see is for Monica to come back less than 100% fit and suffer humiliating defeats like the Petrova match at RG last year. new Haven is the planned event for the return, so let's wait and see if the foot is ready for action by then!

Hate to sound liek a cliche Nike ad but
Monica has stared impossible in the face before and defeated it.

Look at all these people counting Monica out - Well of course it will be hard for her to come back after all this time and win a Major. But after watching this woman play tennis for many years, I know not to count her out yet.
She might not come back to play competitive tennis again, but then again she just might. She has worked really hard to trim down in the past year, and she looks fantastic now. I still feel like if her foot is not hurting anymore, with more practice she can get that depth back and start winning again. But to win another GS, maybe not. But to just have her back playing again will be great for tennis. But who knows, we are talking about Monica Seles - she could very well continue on with her come back, go down to Australia next year and win.

If she wants to she can beat everyone :) She seems like more having fun, then actually playing. That sure is good for her. I guess she'll come back for only one tournament to say final goodbye  I love you Monica you made me love tennis. Thanks for that. Come again to Belgrade and Novi Sad. Your birth country misses you MoniKa

How bout when she was down 3-6 0-3 to an onfire davenport and down 8 match points?

I know the chances are slim to none. I'm not an idiot ..I'll be happy if she comes back and plays but nothing in sports is impossible.

i'll just wait for her to come back first. slams and all that aren't worth talking about until she's playing in them again.

doesn't really seem monica's style though AT ALL. why work all that time in the pool and getting thin to come back for a few lousy tournaments? she may play the rest of this season (new haven to the end) and decide that that's the end, but i think with her returning, she has the ideal of really staying for a little while.

I meant that it might turn out this way, not that Monica intends just to "show the flag" and call it a career.

Nothing is impossible. If she had acheived something impossible than it wouldn't be impossible.

She has acheived so many amazing things personally and professionally and if you really need me to tell you everything she has done then you aren't a very knowledgeable tennis fan.

true, very true, and i agree. however, i DO think that even if the end of the year comeback doesn't go well, she will try to get back to where she needs to be over the off season so she can see how the first half of next year goes and in the meantime play another aus and french open.
