I think ive said a few silly things. When i saw E. Bovina for the first time I wasnt entirely sure it was her, cause id never seen her before and i dont have cable television to see her on tv. so i handed her the picture to sign and she looked confused or something and started talking to her companion in Russian and i said "Is it you?" and she answered Yes, its me.

then last year Wayne Ferreira walked by and all the kids gathered around him and followed him to the gate. You must have seen kids crowding a player like that, its like a swarm of bees. when he finally kinda looked at me I said, "I am only 13", he laughed and signed my autograph book.

You must have some funny/silly ones, no?

That's funny stuff man.

Last yr at JP Morgan during practice, I finally got the nerve to walk to Maria when she was serving with her dad. While she was picking up balls, I said can you sign my cap. So while she was signing, something came over me and I asked her what strings she was using. Her reply was I don't know then I felt really retarded. Then she hollered across the net to her dad...DAD WHAT STRINGS AM I USING. Yuri shouted back...$5 synthetic gut.

That is funny. Once i said to a New York Ranger star hockey player a couple days after they were eliminated from the playoffs "Congratualtions on your great career." He just looked at me funny.

Oh - i just remebered my KING of GOOFs i did several years back. i was new to pro tennis and i didnt know too many players. But there was a player by himself and someone said it was michael Chang. so i said "HI michael, can i get a photo" - well it is Paradorn Srichiphan.........That was the most embarrasing thing i ever said.

Well, I don't know about the stupidest thing I have ever said *to* a player, but at Wimbledon there is this Henman fan (anyone who goes to Wimbledon should have seen him) he always wears a Union Jack cape and a different hat each year and since my friends and I ahve been going for a long time, he always recognises us too. So, this year, he had a hat with a toaster on the top of it saying something like "Who will be the toast of Wimbledon" and one day my friend decided to ask him about his hat, so we were standing outside court 18 chatting to him about his hat, and I was just saying something ridiculous like "I do love your toaster, it's the best hat you've had yet!" and apparently, at that moment, Magui Serna and her coach were walking past, staring at us and laughing!! lol!

yeah come on, what about embarassing/silly things that you said... One time there was a big crowd of kids around Arnaud Clément and i rushed over with a photo and said "I am your biggest fan" and he said "oui cest ca...(Yeah sure you are)" - It was funny cause i was his biggest fan there - I was almost a meter taller than all the other kids.

OK, well, Gallofa and I have this Spanish friend who is obsessed with getting a cap from Lisa Raymond, (who just point blankly rfuses to give her one, every time --- I know this as I am often the translator!), only she doesn't speak English, so she used to go to Lisa and say "Lisa, Lisa, number one, you, me, cap, cap", anyway .... at Wimbledon a few years back, we were laughing about that after one of Lisa and Rennae's doubles matches, and we were walking around Wimbledon saying "Lisa, Lisa, number one, you, me, cap, cap" in fake Spanish accents ... Gallofa looked behind her, and there were Lisa and Rennae, so close they were virtually touching us!!! Gallofa exclaimed aloud and walked in the other direction in embarrassment, whilst my friend and I not knowing what was worng with her, both looked around, "what?!?", then *we* saw them too, and I just *ran* away in embarrassment!!! rotfl!! :o ;) :p

Last year I asked Denise Capriati for a photo. She looked completely confused by what I was saying asking. So I ended up having to wave my camera under her nose and saying "photo?" quite loudly at her. Once she understood, and I'd taken the photo, I said "say well done to Jennifer for winning her match" which again she couldn't understand, so I ended up repeating it twice. And then just giving up and saying "thanks".

And then, not a player but a ref, we spotted Sandra De Jenkin. So I chased after her and asked if I could take a photo, and she was like "no, no, get the players" so I ended up whining "but you're my favourite umpire, remember Australian Open 2002 final" :o at which point I think she decided I was insane, and it was probably safer just to let me take the photo.

There were a bunch of kids at Wimbledon this year who clearly didn't have a clue who anyone was, and were randomly chasing anyone who even vaguely looked like a player for their autograph.... And ended up asking Vivi's coach/friend for theirs. I think they felt sorry for it, and so gave him Vivi's towel.

And again, there was some random woman chasing after Cara Black who just kept saying "Cara, Cara, Cara, Cara" right in her face. Dunno whatever the hell for.

And the best til last. Not actually said to a player, but it needs to be mentioned. I'm standing there watching Martina Navratilova practicing with Lisa Raymond. And this woman's standing next to me complaining that Martina doesn't transfer her weight correctly on her serve, "look look" she pointed out to her partner. And that this year she was playing with LUCY Raymond.

It took a lot to retrain myself from hitting her with my baguette.

I saw Mary Joe Fernandez at the Pilot Pen last year and I tried to get her autograph. I went up to her and said "Mary Joe, do you have a pen?" She said no and walked away. I didn't really specify that it was for her autograph, so I felt kinda dumb afterwards.

When I was 9 years old, I was at the '95 US Open and I saw Michael Chang walking around the grounds. I ran up to him to get his autograph and he signed it 'Jesus loves you, Michael Chang.' I looked up at him and said "But I'm jewish." My dad elbowed me to get me to shut up lol.

2 year ago at the US Open before Megan was to play Jennifer I screamed to Meggan Shaunnessy "If she commits 6 double faults then you better win the match!" She looked over, waved, and smiled at me.

That same year, Justine Henin had just lost a doubles match, I and a few others gathered around her for an autograph, she was pissed and Screaming "stop pushing" directly at me. I responded "what are u talking about, nobody is pushing!". She didn't give me an autograph...BITCH! (just kidding, to anyone who's skin is too thin)

I got reprimanded by Jan-Michael Gambill for calling him "Jan" instead of "Jan-Michael." Bitch. He signed an autograph for me anyway, so that was cool.

I once asked Cara Black what Tom Cruise said to her when she met him. She looked me like, "How did you know about that?" (I had read it in a magazine) and she said, "It was in the Players' Lounge at Wimbledon. He congratulated me for winning the Junior Girls' Singles." I couldn't think of where else I could go from there, so she said, "Do you have a crush on him?" I must have gone a triple shade of red before she added, "Just kidding" and walked away. Mama, was I embarrassed! But I did get her autograph.

Kinda off topic, but I was at a college basketball game and I sat really close to Ashley Judd ( Kiss the Girls, A Time to Kill). We both went to the consession stand at the same time and I ask her if I could borrow a dime, I needed change. lol. She gave me a five dollar bill and said keep the change. I had no clue it was her until I looked up the 2nd time. My face was soo red.

Another time, I went to get my picture taken with Roger Federer. I didn't really say anything silly, but I did something embarrassing. I was nervous meeting him. I shook his hand and said, "Hi, how are you?" He looked at me and said, "Good, very good." I then asked this guy next to him (I think it was Peter Lundgren but I wasn't sure) if he would mind taking a photo for me. He said yes, so I handed him my camera. As I was getting ready to pose, Roger suddenly put his arm around me and pulled me in close. I was stunned and didn't know where to put my other arm. The guy was ready to take the photo, so I panicked and wondered, "Should I put my hand on his back? (No, too personal) Should I put my hand on his shoulder? (No, I couldn't reach it) Ok, so I'll just put it beside me." As I lowered my hand to put my arm beside me, I accidentally grabbed Roger's ass. When I realized I was copping a feel on the way down, I thought he was going to freak and look at me funny, but the funniest thing was he didn't even flinch. I relaxed a little, but a wave of anxiety washed over me. So the guy eventually took the photo and I thanked Roger for his time as I took back my camera. It was so awkward after the fact that I couldn't look Roger or the other guy in the eye. I just hoped that Roger wasn't laughing at me as I walked away to hide in a dark corner so no one could see how embarrassed I was. As I thought about it later, I came to the conclusion that Roger probably didn't flinch because he was so used to being groped by all and sundry.

In Antwerp, I was sitting next to Tina Pisnik, and she had her feet on the row of chairs just before her and her phone was on her pocket and it was nearly falling out of it... So I told her "Tina, your phone" but while I was saying it fell on the ground... I was some secs later... but she thanked me ;)

I said "Ajmo Nico" to Kiefer last week in Indianapolis when he was walking back to the court from taking a bathroom break. He looked at me like "what the fuck?"
It was only bested by my "Allez Ivan" for Ljubicic. lol
