I've never seen her run so much or so FAST. And when she gets to her shots, watch out! Her running backhand cross-court has so much power! I love it! :bounce: :hearts:

The last break point on Lindsay's serve: totally amazing. I was about 6 rows back, and I was jsut in shock over the quality of Lindsay's footwork at how mcuh it has improved.

Me too!!!!It's about the fifth time I watch it!!!! I love her game, even if she isn't confident with her right knee, it's true that she run faster than she used to!!! I think that it would have surprised Venus and Serena, because they were used to make Lindsay run, and win the points easily, but now, Lindsay is running very fast!!!!!!!!GO LINDSAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I have noticed that Lindsay's footwork has been impecable! For those who are watching the match again, just listen to how much Lindsay's shoes cause squeaks on the surface of the court. I know this happens on a hard court, but I noticed that Lindsay was moving her feet as soon as her opponants toss goes up.

Usually, at the point of the opponants ball toss, Lindsay normally just raises her upper body from the leaning position. What I noticed during these Hard Court tournies, if you close your eyes and listen, you will notice that Lindsay is moving her feet about before her opponant has struck the ball on serve!

By the time the ball is struck, Lindsay's loosened up and prepared for the service return - which I think is the reason that her returning games vs. the Williams' have been amazing.

Also, Lindsay has been running down balls - as LindsayRulez has mentioned - and for the last 3 years I have often screamed at the TV, "Come on Lindsay, at least run the balls down and make them play another". It seems my relentless TV screaming sessions have paid off because that is exactly what Lindsay is doing now. By doing this, she is drawing errors from her opponants.

Adding to that, the fact that I have often insisted - again, towards the TV - that Lindsay plays balls down the middle vs. either Williams sister to cut down angles. This is more effective, as demonstrated against Venus, when hit deep down the middle of the court, to the forehand. It really does break down strong opponants stratagies of, "hit the ball hard from side to side, wear down the player and eventually hit a winner".

I am so amazed at the fact that Lindsay is playing so well, I knew it was there, I was just hoping it would make a show before she retires ;) and it has! I think having a personal Physisian and Trainer has really enabled Lindsay to develope these strengths and abilities.

Muchos respectos to Lindsay! :worship: Rock on to San Diego and the US Open! :music:

Lindsay's movement could'nt be any better!!!!!!! She is just on fire!!!!!!
Yeah!!! running forehand and backhand crosscourt are amazing!!!!!
Without any further injuries, Lindsay can surely beat anyone and win the comming US Open, No one strikes the ball the way she does. She judt does'nt have any weakness in any of her shots!!! yeah!!! even volley is amazing. With her new perspective and movement, the girl is becoming unbeatable, just like the first time I tend to love her game.

GO LINDSAY!!!!!!
Proud to be your fan!!!!

 Me too!

Not just her speed, but also her footwork and "explosive movement" (as Lindsay calls it) have improved so much this year. Davenport is so sharp and can start running immediately. And, as LindsayRulez mentioned, she is able to do so much with ht eball when she reaches it on the run. The best example from yesterday is that tough drop shot she ran down and then guided back deep off the backhand, forcing Serena to come up with a difficult lob which she missed.

It happened in january. I was chatting with another Lindsay's fan, and I asked this question:"Can Lindsay beat the Williams sisters again??", this person answered:"Well, in my opinion, Lindsay won't beat the Williams sisters anymore, Lindsay doesn't care anymore to her tennis, she is going to retire soon, she doesn't want to be the best anymore." Right now, who can believe that???

Well, Lindsay may not be the quickest, but her anticipation, and ability to hit a quality shot when she gets to the ball the fantasic ATM.

I mean, when she is stetched wide, she can now get there in time and hit some great cross court Backands or watever.

She's starting to move like a normal player. Combine that with her other weapons, and that's just scary.

Did you see that fanatastic short drop shot hit by Myskina that Davenport quickly ran down and then countered with a deep, aggressive slice backhand, setting herself up for an easy volley winner?! Amazing movement. :worship:

Yes!!!! I saw it, Lindsay was fabulous anyway!!! But I told us few days ago that I was worried about Lindsay's knee, because she was running fast, and it's not good for her knee, and everyone told me that I shouldn't worry about that, because she was working with a therapist. Right now, I think that I was right to be worried about her knee, because, even if it's not serious, she's got a problem, so now, she hope she'll be okey for New Haven and US open!!!!

 @ the TV. comments. And rache... I was also expecting an 'explosion' from Lindsay any time soon. I knew she had it in her, she is just a real champion.
