Thank God ! No Barna in Olympics !

I wonder when those girls like Weingartner and Barna will wake up and realize that wanting money for playing (though our federations sucks) won´t change a system and that being keen on playing Olympics does not automatically nominate them for really playing.

Anca Barna should have stopped argueing about our team captain and the federation and jump in the rankings since the Leipzig scandal last year. She lost against minor players since then and consequently was not considered as a candidate for Athens.

Marlene is the same problem. Beating top players and then going out to minor players is no real proof of form and chances to do great stuff in a tough field.

I don't get it - they are ranked high enough for DIRECT ENTRY into the event, so why wouldn't they get nominated? Seriously they've earned it - no need to scrutinize beyond that. And they ARE the current best German players - nobody said they had to LOVE them! I hope to see BOTH of them in the Olympics. If the "federation sucks" then why are they allowed to continue sucking? Groenefeld has hit a wall also, and doesn't seem likely to move up much more unless her game improves. And if Marlene can get healthy she could take out some big names... and I am sure all this commotion has derailed Anca somewhat from focusing on her game rather than all the BS with the federation. So Germany would rather have no Olympians that send Marlene and Anca? That is just sad!
