At this moment there's a big hit in the Netherlands, called Holiday in Spain, by the Counting Crows&Blof. It's half in Dutch and half in English, and it's great. :)

I was thinking about other songs in 2 languages...I thought 7 seconds by Neneh Cherry and Youssou N'Dour wasn't completely in English but I'm not sure  (should know that really), any others? And do you like these kind of songs?

It's "Jolie Louise" by Daniel Lanois.

How about Denis by Blondie?

These kind of songs can be good, either (1) in a comical way if the singer doesn't know both languages very well, or (2) in a good way if different singers sing the different languages.

That's a really good song. When you first look at it, you feel like this is the stupidest thing ever, but on the opposite, it's a very moving and sad song. I love it. I have the lyrics if anyone wants them. Just PM me. :) I also have the mp3 actually :)

Of course Nena is most famous for The "Twin" English and German versions of 99 Red Baloons. (As I recall, the English version has some French lyrics, too). And ABBA Also recorded many of their hits in Spanish as well as Swedish.

Well, there's the great "Michelle."

"Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi" by the lovely Céline Dion.

Nelly Furtado sings in English and Portuguese on many songs, such as Scared of You, Força, and Island of Wonder.

t.A.T.u, or t.E.m.A, or whatever they're calling themselves at the moment. Their name is about as decided as their sexual orientation.

Andrea Bocelli.

Guantanamera
The Sandpipers

Guantanamera, guajira guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira guantanamera.
Yo soy un hombre sincero,
De don de crece la palma,
Yo soy un hombre sincero,
De don de crece la palma,
Yantes des morirme guiero,
Echar mis versos del alma,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera
Guantanamera, guajira guantanamera.

Guantanamera, guajira guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira guantanamera.
I'm just a man who is trying
To do some good before dying,
To ask each man and his brother,
To bear no ill toward each other.
This life will never be hollow,
To those who listen and follow.
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera.

Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera.
I write my rhymes with no learning,
And yet with truth they are burning,
But is the world waiting for them?
Or will they all just ignore them?
Have I a poet's illusion,
A dream to die in seclusion?
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera.

Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera
Guantanamera, guajira; guantanamera,
A little brook on a mountain,
The cooling spray of a fountain,
Arouse in me an emotion,
More than the vast boundless ocean,
For there's a wealth beyond measure,
In little things that we treasure,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera,
Guantanamera, guajira, guantanamera.

We walk hand in hand to a peaceful land
baris olsun diye, yürüyelim el ele
We walk hand in hand to a peaceful land
dost kalirsak eger, yarisamaya deger
And if we stay friends our dream will live forever.

Selâm, Selâm, hand in hand, on the journey to Jerusalem

Aïsha by Khaled is a great song in French-Arabic and then there's the classic Delon-Dalida "parole parole parole" in Français-Italiano.

Agnetha Fältskog did a Swedish version of SOS (wonderful!) and Frida Boccara -Un Jour un Enfant (Sov Gott Min Lilla Vän) but they don't really count as they were in one language only.
