It's Magüi's turn to win a match on grass!.

Tomorrow we'll know Magüi's rival, not being seeded anyone is possible, hopefully it will be someone she can beat!

¡¡VAMOS!! :):)

I think Magui could beat Danillidou. Eleni was injured in Birmingham, and has not been playing well. She was making a lot of errors at Birmingham, so there is hope for Magui.

Magui was playing better in Eastbourne (in her singles match) than in Birmingham, but she was still not playing great tennis and Ma Antonia was just too consistent for her, perhaps if Eleni makes more errors and is less consistent, then Magui can win.

If the doubles at Eastbourne is any indication, Magui is starting to play better now. She and Alicia were coming into the net a lot and it was working; they were volleying well and hitting some fantastic winners from the net. Magui was struggling with her serve when it came to important games though, (ie. 5-2 - 1st set, 4-1 and 5-4 - 2nd set).

She's been training really hard at Eastbourne (much harder than in Birmingham when we rarely saw her on a training court) -- she's turning into Cara Black, I'm sure -- so hopefully the hard work will pay off!

(30) Eleni Daniilidou (GRE) vs. Magui Serna (ESP)

The talented Daniilidou hopes to bring out her best against tough grass court opponent Serna in what could be the most engaging opening round match of the tournament. Both players have extensive experience on grass, with Daniilidou winning s'Hertogenbosch and making the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2002, and Serna making the final at Eastbourne in 2001 and reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2000. The two have never played before and it promises to be an intriguing match-up.

Some team has withdraw from Dubs, so Magüi/Molik is now the number #17 seeds

They has a little more easy draw, plays Baker (NZL) Sewell (AUS) in first round

Good Luck girls!! (Win that title also!) ;) First in 4th round it will be tough against Vivi/Paola...

So Magüi plays today from 11 local time, the worst time they could put for me because I think I won't be able to follow the match due to a meeting at work :p...although maybe it's a good thing because Magüi isn't lately too lucky against British players in England, but hopefully she'll win today. ¡¡VAMOS!!

Magui played well today. Serena was just too good. Magui has been playing well this Wimbledon, it's just a shame she got such a bad draw. If she keeps playing like she has been at Wimbledon, she should do well in the rest of the season.
