What is Gmail? Does it protect against Spam and such? :scratch:
A Google approach to email.

Gmail is an experiment in a new kind of webmail, built on the idea that you should never have to delete mail and you should always be able to find the message you want. The key features are:

* Search, don't sort.
Use Google search to find the exact message you want, no matter when it was sent or received.

* Don't throw anything away.
1000 megabytes of free storage so you'll never need to delete another message.

* Keep it all in context.
Each message is grouped with all its replies and displayed as a conversation.

* No pop-up ads. No untargeted banners.
You see only relevant text ads and links to related web pages of interest.

yahoo just upgraded free accounts to 100 MB, so that's all the storage I probably need. I think having an account with 2GB of storage capability is a bit excessive. JMO.;)

oh, y'all are being a little picky...I love Yahoo but I have a gmail account too. Why you ask? because one I can :dance: and two gmail will be my archive and yahoo will be my daily mail. I have a bunch of stuff I want to save and I will forward that stuff to gmail. ;) If I find I absolutely love it better than Yahoo then I will migrate over one of these years or may just use both. :)

I still don't know what gaint ads you are talking about. I know yahoo groups you have to view ads when surfing the message boards but I have never had any in yahoo mail. There are some ads like on the frontpage, but firefox removes them for me. :D do you work for google. :tape: :lol:

But you are being very nice for giving out invites. :worship:

I don't know what resolution you are set on, but none of those ads look that big. What neko skin? That is the default skin in Mac OS X for me.

Notice:

using mozilla,

the CONTENT of your email account takes up a shock 100% of the screen. NO ADS!!!

wow, maybe thats why people like gmail!! :bounce: :bounce:

Jarrett

that seems like a lot when one could get 10X the space yahoo offers without a single dirty ad. :)

intsall ad blocker for 100 mbs of email space and a shabby interface

or do nothing and get 1000mbs of email space, no ads and an amazing interface. hmmmm.. let me think. :bounce: :bounce:

10x the space I will NEVER use. The adblock script for firefox works on other websites BESIDES yahoo. It even removes googleads.

Yeah, I think that is pretty obvious. Hotmail is CRAP. Nothing it good about it. Interface, features, ANYTHING. The virus scan seems to work though.

maybe. but there is something to be said for never having to worry about space again FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. that i think makes it worth while. i dont delete. it feel weird, but it makes me made to look about at all the love letters, business emails and back up copies of stuff that are just gone. just gone.

i dont really need an and blocker, if sites dont limit thier ads with in reason, 10 out 10 times they have nothing to offer anyway, so i dont bother. i enjoy the internet 1000X better now. :)

i agree there is NOTHING good about hotmail, still like it better than yahoo. its really sad because i like EVERYTHING ELSE about yahoo, and would love to use it as my email, but those ads and that crap intereface, i cant do it.
