Shocked that both Peterzans went out :o
Mel :( but Helen :)

I still hope Karen can beat Helen, its certainly possible. After watching that 'Wimbledon: The Movie' trailer, I am hoping Karen can find inspiration to win this against the odds, lol.

Borwell got injured at a Challenger event in Mexico.

She is playing doubles at Wimbledon though, but probs not singles unless she receives a surprise wildcard.

Apparently Mel and Emily both won in straight sets today, against Neri and Llewellyn respectively :)

Can't believe Karen lost so easily! She doesn't deserve a MD wildcard after that. Good luck Emily and Mel now.

karen that si so bad its not even funny. Loks likes you'll be in qualies though - hopefully

Natalie

here are 3 of the 4 Qf's:

Emily Webley-Smith (Avon) bt Alice McKenzie (Yorks) 7-5 6-2

Hannah Collin (Surrey) bt Holly Bagshaw (Herts) 6-2 6-1

Chantal Coombs (Kent) bt Melanie South (Surrey) 6-4 6-2

Emily :woohoo:
Hannah :)
Holly :(
Chantal :D:D:D WOW!!!
Mel

so at the moment i think this has to be Emily's.

i reckon the qualy wildcards (well i'll guess 6) will be:

Melanie
Chantal
Hannah
Karen
Katie
Sarah

however, if say Chantal makes the final, i wouldnt be surprised to see Melanie get the 7th MD WC over her

I still can't get over Karen's horrendous loss

Emily :D - i will be shocked if you don't have this.
Hannah :D - hitting form when you need to ;)
Chantal :D  :bolt: - what a shock! Where did that come from?
Mel

I agree with your idea of Qualies wildcards, Paul.

but if Sarah is not ready to return to singles, I would put Claire Peterzan in instead.

i know obatafan - i totally expected it as last time they played Helen won 75 75, but even so i was hoping karen would get through. i personally blmae Mel Berry 100% for wasting several matchpoints in teh second set breaker, lol. :p

still, i reckon she would of lost to Katie anyway.

Go Chantal, can you imagine if she won the whole thing, lol

BBC must of made a mistake, as Melanie's site is saying she won 64 62

she plays Katie now, so Katie msut of beaten Helen

lol, Mel Berry is nearly as flaky as Karen! But i do think Karen should be beating Fritche, who is good - but not THAT good. If Karen would stop being insane then she would dominate these people, lol. She has the game for it anyway.

I am just worried about the qualies now. If she had beaten Fritche it would have at least made a qualie wildcard look legitimate  And I am sure that the LTA/AELTC would be delighted to give it to one of their players rather than from the evil competitor Hub.

EDIT: I thought that Coombs result was too shocking to be true.
