Will you americans be offended that our canadian prime minister won't be "representing" us at reagan's funeral friday? The one who will represent us there is the Governal General(she represents the queen when she can't be there) Adrienne Clarkson. I am just very mad that he won't be there to represent us like he should as our current leader. are you

Brian Mulroney is going to be there, even though he's a little shit. Besides it's not like the American's want us to be there, did you see the front page of the Globe and Mail today? :tape:

Ok...

Americans only care about making fun of Canadians.

Seriously... run a survey asking Americans if they even know who the PM of Canada is.

Please note, however, that I don't share this opinion. I live very close to Canada, and go there often. Beautiful place.

From what I know about some American students, a lot of them don't list geography as one of their most important subjects. Hell, when I was in NYC, one of the questions I was asked was "oh you're from Australia right? Which city? Sydney or New Zealand"? :haha:

And if you must insist on America's "ignorance", Canada is still their no.1 trading partner, so throw away all the anti-Canada cliches, and their northern neighbour still holds a special place in their hearts. God bless America

I am not offended. If Reagan was the sitting president, that would be a differnt story. Plus, Canada is sending someone and the former PM is coming, so I don't know what the fuss is about.

Some Americans will care ie. Bill O'Reilly and others won't. America is a large country with many diverse ideas and opinions concerning Ronald Ragan so it has hard to say if people will be offended or not.

Normally a head of state is considered higher than a head of government and as the Governor General is the Canadians' highest representative of state, it should be seen as more prestigious to send her than the PM. Frankly, I wish all countries would send someone who's unemployed or homeless to these ceremonies - they'd get a good meal and be well-treated and these overpaid ceremonial heads could do something more useful to society than sit in a buidling and stare at a wooden box with a corpse inside of it.

Actually I dont care if Canada PM is not there....I wish they would let Regan rest in peace....he's been flooded in the media the past few days. God bless Regan and his family though....and BTW...who said Americans dont like Canadians? I think we have a good relationship with Canada...and there are a lot of Canadians that come to our country and make a good living ( Tom Green, Deborah Cox, and many more) Right now our biggest problem is Iraq......*and I wish that would end peacefully and FAST!*

I really hope you are talking about vice president of the US :tape: because canada's a Prime Minister's and Deputy Prime Ministers, then again if you didn't know Anne McLealan (Deputy) I wouldn't be quite surprised, she's a freak. Anyway...that fact is the world knows so much about America and America knows nothing about the world except for the fact that Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction and lots of oil ;).

It does not bother me.

When I croak, they better lay me in state at AMPAS' headquarters in Beverly Hills and I expect every living Best Actress Oscar winner to attend and weep, except that bitch Jane Wyman, she can stay home.

It's OK for the GG to represent Canada (as Head of State). "PM the PM" is Head of Government. The US is rather unique in that a Pres. holds both roles, though we're becoming more like the rest of the world. (Pres. Cheney lets Dubya Do the ceremonial stuff). :p

Actually, we Canadians have no right to complain about the Americans not liking us when most Canadians never miss a chance to run down Americans.
