My fave would be Vera, Bovina or Marissa.

well my fav players are in this order

so my new top fav player would be Venus if Lindsay retired, but i'm not even looking into retirement for her because i think she will return to the tour healthy and everything will be ok. And when she does retire she will still be my favorite player ever.

I really don't know who I would support. I would just watch tennis as usual and wait until someone really struck me as being the player I would give total loyalty to. I like most of the players at the moment, but Lindsay is the one for me at the moment:)

I rather I cross the bridge when I get there :)

And I don't want to cross that bridge just yet.

Jun 16th, 2004, 12:21 PM
I don't think I'll ever willingly cross that bridge

When she'll retire, I'll loose all my interest in the women tennis, I follow just because I know that Lindsay plays, for example, I didn't really followed women tennis in the begining of 2002, because she was injured, I began to watch again when she came back!!! And, I think that I'll follow men's tennis, I don't really follow yet, but when Lindsay will retire, I think that I'll find what I want in men's tennis.

I prefer watching sport when I'm totally biased to one team/person. It's much more emotional that way ( don't we know ). In tennis it's Lindsay, when she retires I will still probably watch the big games for enjoyment, especially Roger Federer who plays like I dream, but I will not really be bothered who wins. Basically I won't be supporting anyone else.

I agree with Jan. I know retirement is nigh with Lindsay but I just can't pick a new fave like that! I keep looking but I guess, like with Lindsay all those years ago - it has to come naturally.....

For me my fav player behind Lindsay for the last few years has been Kim C - as well I think it's cool that they share the same b'days :)

It was always fun seeing them play against each other when they did the d.o.b columns ;)

I think I might have made my final desition now......;)

I was so thrilled by Maria Sharapova's victory.......the last time I was so happy of a player winning Wimbledon was when Lindsay won back in 1999! Plus, I have seen in Maria a mixture of two of my Faves; like Lindsay in the way she goes for her serves (first and second), and paints the lines with her shots as well has her humbleness and graciousness towards her opponants having won a match, like Monica Seles in the way that "every point counts" for her and the way she pulls out a win even when it seemed impossible like against Lindsay in the semi's. Add to that, great movement around the court and you've possibly got a great candidate for a fave player.

Maria was on my list of 'second faves' last year when I saw her play in Birmingham and then vs. Dokic on Court one, middle saturday last year at Wimbledon! Unfortunately for me, I was unable to make Birmingham this year

Well, congrats to Maria, and I hope that Lindsay doesn't feel too bad now about losing to Maria, especially given the fact that Lindsay at least took a set from her......

GO LINDSAY in the mixed doubles - I'm still rooting for you!!!!!! :D

Mary Pierce. After that, Lina Krasnoroutskaya. After that, Lisa Raymond. After that, Amelie Mauresmo. After that, Elena Dementieva. After that, Anastasia Myskina. After that, Monica Seles. After that... no one. Time to give up women's tennis at that point. ;)

Kim C and Lindsay are probably my two favorite players that are top tier (as in top 10). After that it would be Monica (if and when she ever returns to tournament play), Meghann S, Meilen Tu and a new fave after seeing her at the Bank of the West, Claudine Schaul.

I am like Rayrob, I am impressed with Maria Sharapova and she is such a nice natural girl at the moment. I do hope she does not change too muc, bound to change a little of course as she succeeds more in her game.

Still with Lindsay though, I don't think she is quite finished with tennis yet. If the body holds up I reckon we will see her for 2005.
