I don't know if it was because i was younger and less skilled at video games but some of those darn NES games were tough! I swear Rushin' Attack was unbeatable without cheats. and this BS about having to beat ghost and goblins twice ina row to get to the ending? :fiery:

It's hard to pick 5 favorites so I'll just list what comes to mind.

Mario BROS(the original before all that "super" shit)
Super Mario Bros 1-3(2 was the best, on SMB 1 I can't get to the negative world like I used to when I was little :o)
Contra (sometimes we used to purposely try to make each other get hit, lol, if you don't know the 30 turn code then you don't know shit)
Tecmo Bowl (I played with the Raiders, Bo Jackson is the best on the game)
Excitebike (who didn't like to make their own tracks?? I hated overheating  )
Mega Man (the original had classic music especially Fireman and Cutman stages and the way the bosses strike a pose is classic.)
Double Dribble (we used to play this one all day and all night, if you didn't have a double dribble game in the 80's you were no one.)
Pro Wrestling (props if anyone knows about this, this one was a button masher)
Baseball (oldie, but a goodie)
Bad News Baseball (cut scenes and homerun hitting made the game)
Volleyball (Cuba is the shit)
Soccer (can you tell we liked sports yet?? Brazil was the best)
Double Dragon (Sega version was better, but this was the first one we played)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out (my favorite person to knockout was Soda Popinski's cocky ass especially knocking him down with a shot to the stomach to make him do the sissy dance. Hated going against Mr. Sandman, thanked Mike for complementing me on my "finger speed")
Metroid (long ass game for Nintendo, a classic)
The Legend of Zelda (can't believe it took me this long to mention this, I still never bothered to finish the second quest)
Tag Team Wrestling (loved the special moves and the chair outside the ring)
Rad Racer (cool as hell, listen to good music as you ride)
Top Gun (still tough to land the plane even today, anyone else mind wander when seeing the plane "connect" to the refueling tank?? :tape:)
Castlevania (loved the chain and fire whips and the axe.)
Little Nemo in Dream World (weird game, but a classic)
Track and Field (I can't believe I almost overlooked this. Best Track and Field game I've ever played. What a classic.)
Kid Icarus (this game is hard as hell to play now that I'm older)

There are many more that I know I'm forgetting, but these are just a few of my favorites. Those were the days. When games were about gameplay and not all these 3d fancy graphics. Kids today don't know what they are missing.

Yep :lol::lol::lol:

Unfortunately I was the youngest of three boys so the character delegation between us went:

My oldest bro had: Fighter Hayabusa and Star Man
2nd bro had: King Slender and Giant Panther
I got stuck with: Kin Korn Karn and The Amazon who the crowd hated and they had the worst special moves.

OMG Knizzle - you are bringing back memories!

Contra: Up-Up-Down-Down-Left-Right-Left-Right-B-A-Select-Start ;)

also: Metroid - freaking incredible and my brother, father, and mother played that game all the way through without any help from magazines or anything. Fucking incredible game!

Ledgend of Zelda - another classic that is just amazing and incredibly fun.

Road Runner - anyone remember this game? I was obsessed with it.

Castle Quest - so fun and so damn difficult too!

The best controller to use is Playstation ones... because all PC controllers suck ass.

Get a USB converter to use them on your PC from Radio Shack, or wherever.
