Sorry to Sharapova fans but I think it is still a bit to early for Sharapova to win a slam. She plays confidently like Dokic did in her early days, and is very talented off the ground.

But her overconfidence is a bit much. She is yet to beat any great players (Davenport, Williams, Clijsters, and Henin-Hardenne). Paola taught her a lesson in Paris and Frazier may do likewise.

While one day she will win a grand slam I think she is still a little immature to capture Wimbledon. She's a great shot at a semi as she was in Paris but she can't unestimate the veteren American in Frazier who is breaming with confidence after eliminating Myskina. I think the tenacious Russian will win against Frazier and go on to beat the winner of Tanasugarn and Sugiyama.

It would be a great Semi-final with Davenport versus Sharapova with th old and the new but I don't think the old is ready to hand over the reigns just yet. Davenport will nail a error-riddled Sharpova in two easy sets.

Sharapova learn and improve. It won't be long before she breaks through but her celebrations after the Hantuchova match reminded me of her youthful immaturity.

I hope she proves me wrong and makes the final, where she'll go down to Paola! (perhaps a little optimistic) Good luck anyway.

Don't judge Sharapova as another Dokic. She doesn't have the same family problems or the nationality issues that poor Dokic had, her worst problems seem to be her exhuberance and perhaps thinking too much. She really does know how to grab the attention of the crowds, now she needs to work out how to use the crowd to lift her.

I would like to bet she will be a real force in tennis in the next two years, injury permitting (please!).

Udachi Maria! :bounce: Good luck in the final! :D It's vital that Masha hang in the match in it's early stages to let Serena Williams know she has a battle on her hands. But if Serena gets off to a fast start she will steamroll Masha and I don't want that.

Well said Katie.

Well done Maria..congrats!!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

What I really admire about Maria (even though she's really beautiful) is that she is FEARLESS....she will not let Serena steam roll past her...she stood her ground and stood really well to win....

I really feel basically that's the thing any player needs most to win a major...much that I admire players like Pierce and Hantuchova for their style and elegance on court...I'd wish sometimes that they'd let off a bit of their feminine side and really show some GRITTINESS and DETERMINATION when up to tasks in big matches...many can learn a lot from Maria in terms of attitude and focus....

So well done Maria...u really inspire me this time gal...well done!!!!:bounce: :bounce:
