View Full Version : Mauresmo`s loss puts the pressure on Jen...

Jun 1st, 2004, 04:40 PM
I am definately happy, Mauresmo lost, not for her, I think it makes things easier for Jen BUT...

...Jen now is the favorite to take the title and that is not what I wanted. Jen won their last encounters with all three, Myskina, Dementieva and Suarez pretty easily.

IMO, the media will concentrate on her now. Hope, she can stand that pressure and take her fourth Grand Slam title... :worship:

I agree Alex, I hope so as well. Jen has dealt with tennis pressure right from Round One, lets hope she puts all the media hype behind her as well..

I don't think there's a lot of pressure on Jen. She wasn't favored to win from the start, and at this point I doubt they will favor her. Its anybody's game now.

But I do hope that Jen will win this.

Even after the US Open debacle...All the chokes...

I think Jen has learned from them. How many 3 setters she has won in the past few weeks? And over top players. I really hope Jen learned from the past, and I think her experience coupled with her confidence will help her.

I don't think Jen will be any more nervous than her opponents. But of course, anything can happen!!!!!

I hope Jen wins the whole thing. That would be amazing.

I don't think so...Jen will probably win the tournament, she Fought from Rd. 1 till Now...I feel she deserves it.

Congratulations Elena Dementiva :) !!!!!

I hope now, that she will win the tournament :) !!!!!

My only request: please, is there anybody that can say to this Pam Shriver to not say that Jen is going to win?

Jennifer is really learning how to handle the nerves and pressure. She will still play one match at a time and just focus on the task at hand. This is an exciting French Open. 3 players that have never been in a G.S final and a 3 time G.S champion.
No Serena, No Venus, No Kim, No Justine. Who would have thought?

Lena! You're the favourite Russian to win the tournament! Do IT!
Favourite, favourite Cappy.... We'll see how how match with Myskina goes first.

We would all fall over ourselves if Suarez comes out the winner

I think jen should just keep going like she has done in the past week. she has been very focused, very disciplined and i think it has helped her a lot. now she just has to concentrate on her semi, and not think too far ahead. Go jen! I love you :D

best best better

Jen can handle pressure imo. USO 2003 was part (self imposed as opposed to media)pressure, part complacency. Jen is a warrior. If she DOESN'T win this title, it won't be because of pressure.

I love Jen but she shouldn't overlook dangerous Myskina, she showed her maturity and her ability to handle power game today! I would say Jen should be able to pull through thanks to the new coach.

You know she is going to pick her.

Myskina scares the crap out of me. I don't like that match up one bit.

after the loss of Momo, Jen remains as my absolute favourite......

A confident AND fit Jennifer Capriati is a dangerous thing. Not to mention the girl is working with Heinz and actually has a gameplan going into matches. I have no doubt she will win this thing; but then again there is a reason they actually PLAY the matches, so you never know. She has conquered so many mental blocks the past few weeks, so I don't think there will be any pressure on her. It's all good :)
