I can't find it on the RG site yet. This is all I can find:

``This year I really made it tough on myself by not performing and making a lot of errors ... and by basically not doing anything on a professional level,'' Williams said. ``I was an amateur today.''

That's a little harsh. For anyone that saw the match (I don't get it for 2 more hours), was she that bad?

it usually takes a while for them to put the interviews on the site check back in a couple of hours

RG is slower than a valley girl doing long division.

give them time.

I think Serena needed to say something like this to herself.

In the first set she really was bad....she couldn´t convert any breakpoints...but after the first set she cleaned up.....

Why doesn't give credit to Capriati? Maybe she did in the rest of the interview, but that would not make it better...

^ hmmm in Jen's interview it said that Serena complimented Cap's game... but i doubt that would matter to your kind.

NEWS FLASH: IF SERENA IS ASKED ABOUT THE MATCH, SHE WILL DISCUSS WHAT SHE DID RIGHT/WRONG. thx for paying attention to her press conferences for the last eight years. drive thru.

well, serena was really playing horridly... actually, jennifer wasn't playing much better. but she was better. yeah, the whole affair was just error strewn even though most of the rallies weren't tt long. not a good match at all...

I saw the first set... it was seriously poor, from both girls. Brainless, panicky, inconsistent and error-strewn. I've said in the past that Serena's post-match comments can have a few sour grapes in them... but after today, I completely understand what she's saying.

My kind?!? Well you really don't know me, cos I'm not a Williamshater at all (Venus in my top-10 of fav players, Serena neutral). I just said it because yesterday on the board we had the discussion about Serena always being hard for herself in interviews and not giving praise to her opponents after a loss.

She could have said something different instead;

1) Jennifer just was better today, I will train hard to try to beat her next time.
2) After such a long time off, it's normal I will still need time to find all my stroked again. Jennifer did perfectly in making clear to me which part of my game still need improvement.

In general I have the feeling that since her comeback, Serena IS more humble in defeat as what she used to be :)

At least a good thing since her comeback...or that her injury was good for.

Don't worry, I'm 100% sure she will bounce back, maybe after some other tough losses, but she will get there :)

I hope so...although there are positives to be taken from the match. Two weeks ago she lost in straigths, this time she made it close...sooo, there´s hope.
