Why did they have to replay?

late call of a ball that was out and the umpire doesnt know where the mark was so he said replay point

bandabou

No replay the point....the umpire is stupid. If the ball is out, then it is deuce no?! Nice win by Jen though....what happened to Serenaīs serve in the third?! Many knee-grabbings going on there...

Imo Serena couldn't bring that ball back so no need for a replay but second time was the right one :)

Congrats Jen :)
Serena looked helpless often. She toke some weird descisions sometimes and I'm not used to see her doing that. See you in Wimbledon Serena :)

That knee didnīt look good in the third-set.... she was always clutching it.. She was serving so well in the second, but in her second service turn in the third, she started to clutch the left knee....hope nothing wrong.

katrientje
Jun 1st, 2004, 02:07 PM
What do you mean? Can you PLEASE give me a complete breakdown
From the beginning of the third, she seemed to have problems with her knee, she almost couldn't keep a first serve in and stretched her knee al the time. IMO she looked in a lot of pain. I think she got really distracted by that fact and couldn't keep her level up. She hit four double faults in her first to service games of the third... You could even hear her say 'first serve please!', she looked so sad
She kept fighting though, she tried to fight back on Jen's serve, but it just wasn't there
I am saying hold your handkerchief, because I know I would feel terrible seeing my fave like that...

On replay you could see that half of the ball touched the line. Good call anyway to replay it instead.

When Serena said to herself, "First serve. Please." that was probably it.
As difficult as it is to watch two of my faves play, congrats to Jen. :D

Two things come to my mind regarding Rena's experience at RG-04.

- Next time, Richard'd better be there.
- The new boyfriend has to go. By his looks, I don't think fitness and sports are his things. Very little sportive inspiration there for an elite tennis player!
