Tennis fans can tune into Roland Garros coverage every day on ESPN and ESPN2. The sports cable network announced its Roland Garros schedule today that will feature a total of 88 hours — highlighted by ESPN's coverage of both women's semifinals live on Thursday, June 3rd and one men's semifinal on Friday, June 4th.

In addition, the network will air a special one-hour SportsCenter from Roland Garros, which will include a review of the finals immediately after NBC's coverage of the women's final on June 5th and the men's final on June 6th.

The clay-court major marks the ESPN debut of play-by-play announcer Dick Enberg, who recently joined the network in a multi-year agreement for Grand Slam tennis coverage — Roland Garros, Wimbledon this summer and the Australian Open. This will be the 18th Roland Garros for Enberg, the former longtime NBC commentator now with CBS. In addition to calling matches, the multi-Emmy Award winner will contribute his signature "Enberg Moments" commentaries.

The weekday schedule includes up to seven hours of live or taped coverage each morning/early afternoon. Nightly 90-minute highlight shows on ESPN2 will review the most compelling match or matches each day from the tournament's opening Monday, May 24th through June 2nd (plus a three-hour show June 3rd and a two-hour show June 4th). On the weekend of May 29-30th, same-day afternoon coverage and a late-night highlights show will be aired each day.

Chris Fowler and Suzy Kolber will share on-site host duties while Mary Carillo, Cliff Drysdale, Mary Joe Fernandez, Patrick McEnroe, Tim Ryan and MaliVai Washington will call matches, along with Enberg. In addition, former French Open doubles champion Luke Jensen will report from Roland Garros for SportsCenter, ESPNEWS and ESPN Radio.

In 2004, ESPN and ESPN2 will televise nearly 600 hours of tennis. Last year, the networks became the first in U.S. television history to cover three Grand Slam events — totaling more than 300 hours — crowned by the Championships at Wimbledon joining a lineup that included Roland Garros and the Australian Open (an exclusive ESPN property since 1984). The networks’ schedule also includes the U.S. Open Series, the ATP Tennis Masters Series, WTA tournaments, the Davis Cup and more.

This year marks ESPN’s 25th anniversary on September 7th and the 25th anniversary of the network’s tennis coverage, which began a week later — September 14th, 1979 — with Argentina vs. the U.S. in Davis Cup play in Memphis, Tenn. Cliff Drysdale called the action as John McEnroe defeated Guillermo Vilas and Vitas Gerulaitis defeated Jose-Luis Clerc.
