View Full Version : Ting Li def. Iveta Benesova 6-4 6-1

I thought this was worth posting in general messages.
Ting is really prooving to be something in singles. She has already pushed Capriati to a tiebreak this year and taken out the likes of Santangelo and Callens.
Anyway... i reckon she will be making some real noise on the tour soon.
Her game is all power with a nice big serve.... obviously i don't need to bother complimenting her doubles skills....which are second to none.
Plenty of power...and great net skills - she can't go wrong. :)

She is the no.1 player in China, what's with all that roll eyes?
You are all biased!

hahaha. She's not even the number 1 player in China.
Lets see if she can hurt the in-form Kostanic. :)

Yay for Li Ting! :)

She is a great player, and unusual for the Chinese ladies. She is not given enough credit. She was unranked until recently and now she is beating good players consistently.

Keep going :bounce:

lol@all the embarrassed smilies....uh, Chinese players can play. Seems to me whenever a Chinese girl beats a higher ranked player, people find it strange, like it can't/shouldn't happen? They can play tennis you know.

And who is Iveta Benesova to make this such a huge shock by some of your reactions? She's ranked 50, not 5.

I recently saw Ting play for the first time, she did a lot of practicing with Tian Tian, and I have to say that her game impressed me more than Tian Tian, or Zi Yan - She's definitely got potential, hits the ball with good pace and if she plays more in singles then she could easily be way higher than where she is now. If Tian Tian is nearly knocking on top 100, then I see no reason why Ting can't be doing the same, if not better.

Great Job Ting! I just wish that the Chinese girls didn't have to pull out from the French Open quallies  . But good luck Ting and Zheng and both doubles teams in Strasbourg!!!
