Does anyone think it is possible that they could give her a #32 or so seeding just to make sure she does not run into a a venus or lindsay in the 1st rd ??
If i am thinking correctly..wimbledon can make ANY special seedings as they see fit..

No! SHe retired. And comes back, an takes a top 40's players seed. I say hell no, but she should get a WC if she wants one, bu tnot a seed. But they could give her one.

Don't believe the Hype..if martina asked and recieved a WC for the French she will get one for Wimby. Knowing the wimbledon seeding panels history i really would not be surprised if they gave her a seed..i dunno how i would feel about the seeding..i WOULD agree with the WC since this is her last year on tour. But if Amy Frazier is the #32 player in the world at that time amd Martina takes her seed i would be >>> :fiery:  ;) ..just as i am sure another fan would be pissed if a seed was takin from one of there fave players ...

that's an interesting point. In theory, Wimby can seed whatever players it wishes. But in practice, i think they go by a grass courts results formula of matches played in the past two years. Martina N's grass record of the past two years is 1-1, on which basis she obviously wouldn't be seeded.

Then again..they could go with her LIFETIME record and in theory be seeded no 1 ..  ;) :worship:

No chance. Tracy Austin didn't get seeded when she made her comeback in the Mid 90s.

I'm all for the wild card. But if they seed a 47 year old woman, especially when they have exactly one match win to their name in the last ten years, it would look ridiculous..

Yeah, she would need to sleep with A LOT people to get the seeding - the only problem is no one wants to sleep with her.

Tracy Austin came back in the mid-1990's? Where was I? Must've been mourning Monica's absence still! :o

Did Sandrine actually retire? I thought she took a long maternity leave.

I think it's impossible, there are many girls out there who play better than her right now.

It's not possible.

Grand slams can change seeding, but ONLY if you are ranked high enough to get one. Like, they can make the #32 seed #10 or something, but they cannot seed someone that isn't in the top 32.

At least, I think that's how it works now.

i dont think Martina wants to be seeded. it sounds like she doesn't want to ruin the tradition, according to her quote last time.

WC, yes.....seed, no! It won´t matter anyways....she won´t win more than two round seeded or not seeded.

I doubt a seeding would make much of a diffrence I think most players in the top 100 can beat her.

To be fair, Tracy didn't play at Wimbledon in her brief tour comeback. She retired again after losing to Kristine Radford at Eastboune the week before Wimbledon. But she definitely wouldn't have been seeded there - and neither should -or will -Martina be.

To be honest i really hope she doesn't play ... she will take place which someone else could get. Her time is gone and it's unfair she gets the bonuses just beacuse she's a legend!

No, they won't. Plus they'd probably love it if they had a Venus vs Martina first round match, imagine the crowd.

I like Martina N, but to give a seed to someone who has not played a grand slam in 10 years is a slap in the face to all players who slave away all year to earn their seedings.

How about #128 seed ? :p
