How does everyone feel about this?
What would be the pro's and con's
for and against it?

If they give it to her, fine, if not it doesn't matter. She doesn't need it to win.

No doubt but,
I'm just wondering.

Whatever puts Venus and Serena on opposite ends of the draw is cool with me..... ;)

Kremer is listed as 26th in the updated entry list for RG (using her special rankings) and you don't see her being a seed in RG.

I'd treat them the same as in a WTA tournament. This means the seeds are:

1. Justine.
2. Serena
3. Amelie
4. Venus

The loser in all this would be Lindsay. Then again, Lindsay had every opportunity to try to pass Momo in the rankings over the past few weeks, so I can't feel too sorry for her. Besides, if Serena and Venus were seeded a bit lower (but still somewhere in the top eight), being in the top four might not be that much advantage. All in all, the above seedings seem pretty fair.

seed them higher so that k-lina doesn't have to play against them until the qfs (where she will :toothy: and :smash: them all :nerner::smoke: )

Being a slam, they have every fucking right to do whatever they want.

The pros are financial. Seeding them #3 and #4 would assure the were on opposite sides of the draw, upping the odds of both of them being in the tournament at least into the semis. (No guarantee of course. Look at last year.) That increases the rates that can be charged to advertisers on American TV. Basically, the longer they're inthe tournament, the more money the tournament makes. (This does assume the tournament is going to sell out every match from the 16s onward anyway, which they will.)

The cons? It LOOKS like they'r being seeded higher to to increase the odds of the tournament making more money. Not entirely _______ with the tournaments position as a sporting entity.

in the era of professional sports, which "sporting entity" hasn't made concessions to profit? this would hardly be phenomena for tennis.

As I speculated in an earlier poll and post...I think the French will seed Mauresmo #2 because frankly she deserves it and will seed Serena #3 and Venus #4 to ensure opposite halves of the draw. I'm sure the WTA will make sure this happens.
