I think she will, but I'm curious to how her ankle is coming.

She'll play...she'll get throught the first few rounds pretty easily...then there'll be maybe a three setter that she wins in the round of 16...people will start saying that she may be faltering and her injury is getting to her. She'll get through the quarterfinal...ther'll be discussion that she may pull out before her semifinal match but she won't...and she'll lose in three tough sets.

Looks like the answer is YES!!!! :worship:

Q. How is Venus right now?

SERENA WILLIAMS: She's in great spirits. She's doing great. She's definitely going to be very, very difficult to beat at the French Open.

BTW, just got word from V&Sfans board that in a
Florida newspaper Vee was already back on the
tennis courts preparing last week.

an ankle strain is really no big deal. A SPRAIN would take much longer to heal.

Exactly.

A strain takes a few days to heal. If she had a sprain, she would have not been able to play until Wimbledon.

Also on the V&S Fans board is a rumor that Venus will be headed to Paris tomorrow. So that is more good news.

I think she's definitely going to play, and I LOVE the confidence in her from SERENA.

I really really want Venus to be healed and able to compete but I'm just watching cautiously and hopefully from the background.

I can recall in Australia Venus managed to convince most of us that Serena would play even though many news agencies suggested otherwise. When I see here there and hear her say she's good enough to play I'll believe it.

The only news agency that said she wouldn't play was some paper in Australia and that has been discounted. The fact that she is headed to Paris tomorrow suggest that she is definitely playing. If there were any doubts that she was even going to play, we wouldn't even know what day she would be travelling to Paris.

1. How has it been discounted and by whom? Maybe the OZ paper was hopeful? or desperate for a story but until Venus (or her agent) states otherwise, this claim could eventually turn out to be true.

2. You're her travel agent? How can you repeat this as a fact when there is no direct info from her camp?

This is merely optimism and there's nothing wrong with being optimistic, but you haven't stated one FACT yet.

BTW unless Venus' foot was literally broken (probably in 3 or 4 places), I'm sure she'd go to Paris just to wait til the very last minute to make sure she absolutely couldn't play, so even if she MAY leave for Paris tomorrow we don't know what the real status of her ankle is.

1) The same article said that Justine wasn't going to play either and like Venus, she is practicing at an undisclosed location.

2) No, I am not her tavel agent, but common sense tells me that no one, including Venus, would travel from the US to France unless they were planning on playing the French Open.

I'm really surprised:cool:  .

If you don't mind, I'll stick to this. If you feel otherwise you have that right.

hmm i just think the whole way things are developing, the whole uncertaintity about venus playing in the french, it just seems that it would be a typical venus thing to do to play in the french and storm her way through the draw on to winning the title, shocking everyone in the process.it would really complete her comeback. :worship: :worship:
