yet? I want to know how they played. Was it winner after winner or Error after Errorr or a mixture?

I want to know if I should actually watch the match. :)

I think you should watch it, Rocketta. That way you can form your own opinion.

I think the real problem almost no one was lucky enough to watch the match...

Rocketta- I watched the match and it was somewhat entertaining. There were a lot of errors, mixed with some nice winners. Serena was spraying balls all over the place, while Jen was more consistent and didn't miss much today. That was the difference in the match. I watch every match of Jennifer's that I can, so I guess I am not a good one to tell you to watch the match or not. I, of course, would.

The way Jennifer played today, very few players could beat her. Serena didn't even play that bad. She probably played better than some of the wins against Jennifer before. Serena's ground game wasn't that bad, her serve was pretty good, but she couldn't win the big points and the break points at the right time. She seemed to have lost some focus out there and really wasn't all that hungry looking out there. Jennifer played consistent, deep strokes, good defense and served pretty well. She clearly outplayed Serena today. Serena's movement wasn't as good as before and she looked distracted and not wanting to give it 100%. Serena is getting the rust off and will contend for the French along with Jennifer, Venus(if she plays), Justine and Amelie. Serena can still win the French Open. Jennifer played well, but can she continue?

Just watched it.....not bad, not bad by Serena at all...just some sloppy play on the big points. Give her time....sheīs gonna be just fine. People forget this is just her third tourney and her first red-clay tourney..

For me Serena played bad, too many silly errors, especially on return.
Jennifer double faulted on her 1st match point ;)
Almost no winners at both sides. But at some moments it was entartaining ;)
That how much I could judge on that highlights, ES showed here.

Us Americans don't get Eurosport.

If I did, I'd be watching tennis 10 hours a day, and never come on here. :p

Yep...some silly errors or bad returns, but overall it wasnīt BAD as in BAD. Just not match tough...a match tough Serena makes 5-5.

Good assesment. Serena was off. Jen was not off. Both have played better before and both have had better matches against one another. Serena picked it up in the end but it was far to late.

Jen played well not great. and yes there are players who would have beaten her. The only difference today was that serena was off and didn't pick up until late in the match. Jen played well throughtout the match.

Serena was outstading at times... but just too many errors, especially from the forehand side. Jennifer was more consistent, fought really hard and served pretty well. She deserved to win.

IT WAS error after ERROR, to answer Rocketta

From both players, of course, but Capriati served really well, really hard, and serena's 2nd serve went to pieces

She used slice a lot, and everyone knows Serena hates it. Overall, Capriati was smarter and played the points well

On clay you're going to get more errors, but Serena played fine today, she just didn't win any big break points. Jennifer played great todya, I don't care what anyone says. The rallies were entertaining and most lasted at least 6-8 strokes long. Serena needs more tough matches against top opponents, and needs to get into better shape. Her movement wasn't the Serena Williams we've seen in her career. Serena didn't play that bad, she hit more winners than Jen today anyway. She didn't capitalize on the bp's in the 1st set, and couldn't make it 5-5 when her had 15-40. Serena will be fine.

I will say that Serena didn't look as hungry today though. She didn't have that game face, and didn't make Jen play when she needed to. It seemed like she hads more important things to do because it was either winners or errors, like she didn't want to wait for the errors from Jen.

Thatīs the right thesis...Serenaīs gone fine in time...

Thanks, but didn't it seem like Serena wasn't committed to fight and give it her all out there. Serena needs to start fighting if she wants to win more titles this year. Once Serena starts to feel that she isn't good enough, that's when Serena will pick her game up. If Venus is a no show(let's hope she's not), then Serena will most likely have a top 2 chance of winning Roland Garros. LET'S GO SERENA!!

Yes I think you're right. Her facial expression reminded me of Charleston 03 against Justine. She knew she wasn't playing great, and realized there was nothing she could do about it

Donīt think it was not wanting it....it was more like, o.k....this is a result I can live with. I know what I did wrong and what I should work on.

One thing I noticed is that her second-serve looks more attackable and in fact is being attacked more....maybe still some aftermath of the surgery.
