I want jen to win on sunday. True at first I didnt because I was disappointed but now I think it will be good for jen to win. Right now she has a good win under her belt but a comeback? Please. Reaching a final is not a comeback if you are a former grandslam champion. Its a nice showing.

I think she needs to win the tournament and break her bad streak against Momo as well, but I do have to say regardless it is HUGE for Jen to get a breakthrough win against one of the "big" players. It has been such a mental albatross for Jennifer against the top players and especially letting matches slip away that she should have won. I'm thrilled at her progress. That said, I hope she comes out and kicks ass tomorrow. No offense Mauresmo fans...you guys are the classiest fans around. I just want to see Jen back in form.

Reaching a final isn't a comeback if you have not been off the tour for six months or more.

Celebration, to me, is a natural thing. Your fave win ...you celebrate. If you can't do that, what's the point of having a fave. I've done quite a bit of celebrating myself. So, I've got to be sociable enough to let others have a go at it. Tomorrow, Momo's fans MAY be jumping of joy, and I'll still be on my back just watching. Such is life.

Yet, there is always one thing we can all enjoy, that's great tennis.

Serean was off the tour for eight months and won the Nasda-100 final, a tournament that Jennifer lost in the third round:lol: . In addition, after a slow start, Venus won two titles and got to the final of another. One of those tournamens, the FCC, Jennifer also lost in the third round:lol: . In fact, the last title she won, she only won becasue her opponent, Lindsay Davenport, was too injured to continue.

Ok and your point is?

If Capriati is such shit in 2004 and hasn't made a true comeback in ages, then what can you say about Serena's comeback, coz Serena lost in straights to Cappy

Just as it is classy to laugh at a loss from today, but of couse, you had NO problem with that. In addition, those losses I mentioned were from a few weeks ago. The only reason I laughed is becasue Jennifer is supposed to be better on clay than the sisters and both have more titles on clay than she does.

May 15th, 2004, 09:22 PM
Great news to see! Serena is not at her strongest on clay, and after injury she did well to get to the SFs.

As for Jen, I am really happy for her. I hope she keeps on improving, and with RG so near, I hope she brings 100% to the table.

The best of luck tomorrow Jen, you really do deserve it :D

Oh I see :o

Beating Dementieva in the finals is a successful comeback but beating Serena in the semi's is not... :ras: For your information Cappy has been injured for most of 2004. She could hardly move in most of those losses and/or her back forced her into lots of errors

It's obviously in reference to the many different threads about the scoreline. ie: there was more than one. I did find this thread funny, not the scoreline. But that's a far cry from laughing at the result.

Not everyone is out to get you or hates your faves. You really need to lighten up a little bit. Doesn't it hurt to type with that chip on your shoulder all the time?

I believe those are two different situations:

One person was off the tour for eight months and won her first tournament back, something that was done only by Monica Seles in recent history. The ohter, who had a back injury I was well aware of, chose to play when she was well below her best due to injury and lost early because of it.

No one has a chip on their shoulder; it is getting sick and tired of fans of the other players being envious or jealous of what the Williams sisters have accomplished. It isn't their fault or their problem that they have achieved what they have achieved by playing by the rules and staying out of tourble.

Apparently you do because you asked.

I was laughing at the fact that she is supposed to be better on clay thn the Williams sisters and lost in the third round of the FCC (a tournament Venus went on to win) and she was supposed to beat either sister oin Miami, where she also lost in the third round (a tournament Serena went on to win).

And I'm tired of everyone acting like their fave is the best ever and that everyone is out to get them. It's a sport, have fun. And I don't think everyone compares others to the WS all the time. They're not the greatest in the sport hands down. There's others that have won more, played longer, have more titles, etc. So take it as a proud moment when someone compares to the WS.... I do when people do it to Monica.

And as far as playing by rules and staying out of trouble...... I just, :tape: Nevermind, I'm gonna just let that go.

"supposed to be better" - what exactly does that mean? Isn't Serena "supposed to be better" than EVERYONE else? Just curious.

You should becasue unless you know something about Venus and Serena that others don't, then you should post it. You should let it go because Lord knows it doesn't apply to Jennifer.

I know that Venus and Serena are not the best tennis players who have ever played. I consider Steffi Graf to be the greatest women's tennis player.

Dear moron, I did not start nor promote either of these threads, but the original was clearly started as a defamation to SERENA and the second, though not necessarily justified, was a clear retaliation.

Agreed. You take your bitterness out on Jenny and her fans and then try to justify it. Face it, Jenny, like Venus and Serena, has many, many loyal fans who love to see her win. It seems extremely childish to make something negative out of that.

knizzle--he was making fun of the fact that there were so many threads. it was irony that flew right over your head. and why are you nitpicking on this aspect? that's not the point here. yeah he knew jen won, and asked it on purpose. why is that such an attack on serena?? do u think the government is after you too?

teerexx: no, YOU need to go to school and get that HS diploma and learn how to read. mase' thread was a DEFAMATION OF SERENA?? are you hallucinating again? where in the thread did it "defame" serena?? did it even have serena's name in it?? or a score line that mase made fun of?? or anytime someone is happy about cappy they must actually be bashing serena? take those anti-psych meds fast before the voices tell you something else.
