Ever since Jamea defeated Myriam Casanova at the Nasdaq-100 Open and almost taking out Magui Serna, Jamea has started to qualify and play a lot of ITF Challengers. I mean this isn't something huge, but last year she was going no where fast. She is currently in the SF's of 50K Charlottesville anR is going to play Mashona Washington today. Well anyway it's something to mention, and here is how's she got to the semi-finals:

Q1 W TUCHBAND, Jennifer 6-1 6-2
Q2 W DUBOIS, Stephanie 6-1 6-4
Q3 W REMIS, Nicole 6-1 6-2
1R W LEE, Janet 6-1 6-1
2R W OSTERLOH, Lilia 6-1 6-1
QF W LEHNHOFF, Jessica 6-1 6-1
SF W WASHINGTON, Mashona 6-4 6-2
F vs. IRVIN, Marissa

 Jamea hasn't lost a set this week nor has she played a match where she hasn't won a 6-1 set. Good luck to her today! :D

I always thought she was good, even before Nasdaq, but she had a lot of choking problems as well as cramps. I dont think she did too badly last year, i remember she won a title in Dallas i think, and had some really good wins there. It was just a matter of time before she came into her own.

I guess, but the fact is she was talking about retiring a month ago and now look where she is at! :D

I dont really think she was serious about the retirement talk, she was just disappointed that she lost a match that she had in her hands, and was very dejected and said that at the spur of the moment. She didnt look anything like retiring after that.

That was a strange match. She didn't start cramping until the first game of the third set, so the nerves are obviously an issue here too.

Well Jamea is looking sharp! :D She is in the Charlottesville 50k vs. Marissa Irvin. She defeated Mashona Washington in the Semi-Finals: 6-4 6-2. No 6-1 set . Oh well, congrats to her and good luck in the final! :yeah:
