SERENA wasn't exactly thrilled, however, with her 6-1, 6-3 victory over 97th-ranked Dally Randriantefy in the Italian Open's third round Thursday.

"I don't think I played as well as I could have, so I'm not very satisfied right now at all," Williams said.
===========================

SERENA is looking to use this event in Rome to peak for the French and as long as there are no injuries present, her championship determination will probably propel herself to victory and a title at this event.

The last three matches in Rome may be tough for SERENA, but they are all very beatable opponents for the Princess at this time.

Sign of a true champion is when you're never satisfied with your game.

This is true nike... but watch how the "real tennis fans" enter in here, and declare that quote from Rena as arrogance and being dismissive of Dally's efforts...

Serena could win 6-0 6-0 and still be displeased with her performance :dance:

That is true, because even though her opponents won no games, SERENA would still be irrated that they won some points. :eek: :lol:

Even if Serena was satisfied with her performance, she wouldn't say so. I'm sure she was satisfied when she killed Hingis at the US open in '01, but I'm sure there was something else that she would have found fault in. She knows that perception is reality, and as long as she projects dissatisfaction, she will always be working harder to get better and never get comfortable.:bounce:

I think what serena is trying to say that, is she feels not quite up to her old standards... not feeling comfortable and playing as smooth as she liked....

when you play tennis whether you win or lose you'll know whether it is a good effort from you or not...sometimes you may even feel satisfied even if you lose if you feel that you played well...

Is this news ? When was the last time Serena was ever satisfied with the way she played LOL.

Still, it's probably a better attitude than getting complacent.

A proper and positive attitude is what makes the difference between a mere player and a champion. :)

SERENA should play even better against Kuz on her way to the semis.
