Hlavackova may only be 9 spots below Kirsten but it is a bad loss Hlavackova hasn't been playing well lately at all, her best result all year is a QF of a 10K and she has done nothing in the 25K's she has played so far this year.
After starting so well in Napoli Kirsten's results have really gone down hill since then, I really hope she can somehow find better form so she can at least make an impression at Wimbledon in quallies. Maybe Kirsten is feeling the pressure now, she won her first tournament back (a 10K) and then all of a sudden had her own official site and products, that is a lot for a challenger level player. Perhaps she is feeling the pressure to reach the WTA level straight away.

I'm afraid you're right. That Sprem match in Fed cup has really brought her back on earth.
Just look at the results:
Before the match: 6-0
Sprem match + rest of the season: 5-6

I know the level of the tournaments she's playing now is higher than $10k. But still, she's losing to lower-ranked players... (Klepac :o)
The Stellato-matches show that her confidence is lower now.
While being rusty she beat her 6-2 6-2! After the Klepac loss, she wins 6-3 2-6 6-3.

She's lucky that she doesn't have any points to defend (which would put more pressure on her).
