I like this draw. Some may say it's a bit of a tough draw but I say it's only tough for those on the other side of Serena. If she can get through everybody and win the title it will be a great win for her and she would hands down be the favorite at The French...
A lot of those matchups make for some potentially good tennis...

Nice start for Serena, taking care of business on day one. If anyone has any statistics on the match I'd love to see them. Well round 2 is out of the way... let's go Serena- who's up next since Meleeva lost?

It'll most likely be Douchevina, the one whom Venus had trouble with at the AO. And she's more dangerous on clay...

I would love to see Serena play Kuznetsova!!! Svetlana is one of new favs ..

Shaky start for Serena, but that's natural. I really hope Serena brings her game up. Douchevina/Radriantefy will fight hard. Radriantefy is the one who "upset" Sprem at Charleston, I think.
If she gets through the next round, she will probably face Kuznetsova or Pierce. I'm pulling for Pierce against Sveta, even though I like both. They are both formidable opponents, and Serena will definitely have a match in her hands. Speaking as a fan, I'm really not confident in Serena's chances. I'm being a realist(or a pessimist) here, but I do want her to win this tournament. It's just that I'm not expecting anything yet.
I hope she faces Petrova in the semifinals. Revenge! :D On the other hand, it would be great to see another Serena/Capriati match. They always seem to bring out the best in each other. It will be a great match I'm sure.
And finally, Mauresmo in the finals. It will be another great match if both players bring it. I really hope Amelie shows up in the finals. I like her a lot, but I'm pulling for Serena.
The best of luck to Serena!

Randriantefy put a serious hurting on Vera beating her 6-0, 6-3 and she'll be playing Serena next. Kuznetsova and Suarez moved to the next round but Peirce and Petrova, (also in Serena's draw,) where beaten in the second rounds.
A lot of top seeds have fallen early so I'm expecting Serena to at least make it to the finals. So good so far.

What time does Serena play, I'm here to check on the scores and I don't see anything as of yet, I hate waiting.

6-1, 6-3 win for Serena in about 45 minutes!!!
Svetlana is up next- should be a great match, do they play tomorrow??

Serena showed us the fighter in her, winnning 3 straight games from 5-1 to make it 5-4. Pity about all those BPs though, especially the 2 in the last game.

Wish Serena had won, but I think this loss to Jennifer can only show Serena where she is at, what needs to be worked on and gives her more perspective on where she wants to be to take tournaments like the French and to continue rising up in rankings. Good tournament, wish it was greater with a final appearance but we'll be getting more of those soon enough.
