The trailior is awesome but it always is for this show. :)

I see happier times for everyone except Nate and Brenda but what else is new right?

This show is by far HBO's best show after Sex and the City...and now that SATC is gone...it's #1 in my book. And yes I am fully aware of The Sopranos...never really got into it.

I can't wait for the new season...I really hope David and Keith stay together! And more Brenda! I love her!

I agree except for the STC pt...switch that to OZ and I'm right there with ya. :yeah:

I never cared for the Sopranos.

Yeah, although there is negative in that trailor for Keith & David at the end Keith is part of the family like everyone else and that gives me great hope. That trailor is a lot less negative for them compared to the trailor for last season. :hehehe:

So I'm optimistic. :bounce:

I love Keith and David...for several reasons...

Well is just .....damn sexy eyes and lips....

but Michael C Hall is from North Carolina so it always makes me proud but on top of that I find him to be the best actor of them all. I think David's character has morphed so much since season one episode one.

I can only hope they do more daydreams where we can see more of MCH's broadway experience...:D

I've only seen like a trailer a couple of weeks ago before the Sopranos started. But am I the only one who's glad that Lisa (Nate's wife) is dead/gone? She just annoyed me soooo much. But I think Nate and Brenda will hook back up. And I hope they bring back Billy and Brenda's mom.

Well check out the links in the first post the trailer is now exstended..(If you only saw the shorter version)...

No you're not alone in the hating of Lisa. I didn't mind her granola eating ways but she was a little delusional in the relationship aspect of her life. She was also passive aggressive with many many insecurities.:)

All about the sopranos baby. decent show though but Sopranos, 24, the OC, and survivor are 4 best shows on tv. enjoy everwood, raymond, and friends but not loyal to those. oh yeah anything on mtv real world style. i partied with a bunch of them in acapulco for spring break this year.

why does everyone want keith and david to stay together? keith has major issues (ie he has abusive tendencies) and for the whole of last season i was waiting for the moment he would hit david. the power dynamics in that relationship were all wrong and i was happy when david found the courage to leave him.

people who think Keith was about to hit David really don't know Keith, no offense to you. Let me ask have you seen all the seasons in their entirety? I think people who have watched from season one who have seen Keith when things were going well in his life know his other side. The side David knows and loves as well.

David is no picnic either. He's passive aggressive and has issues of saying what he wants. He never stands up for himself and then he cries that Keith doesn't take his feelings into account. Well David never makes his feelings known.

So basically I think they both have issues and that's why people want them to stay together because they both have to work on those issues and they might as well work on them together.

yep, i have watched all of the seasons. the resons you outlined are exactly the ones i would list to argue david and keith don't belong together. keith was raised by an abusive father and has become an abusive man himself. david has a passive aggressive personality and finds it difficult to establish a healthy sense of equality with someone like keith. they both have issues but, in my opinion, they can work on them separately.

i am also a big fan of claire and am really happy that frederico and vanessa's characters are becoming more fleshed out.

hands up anyone who could see the incest storyline b/w brenda and billy like at least a season ago? i knew that billy would cross the line sooner or later!

you mean Keith has become verbally abusive? Keith has never put his hands on David when he wasn't retaliating for David pushing, hitting or poking him first. David also likes to call names it's just that Keith doesn't get hurt by them like David does so it doesn't seem abusive, imo.

i am also a big fan of claire and am really happy that frederico and vanessa's characters are becoming more fleshed out.
I like Claire a lot as well and I really liked her high school councilor. As inappropriate as it would've been I could've got behind a romantic story between those two. I think he understood her and wouldnt' put up with her self-defeating behavior. I could like Russell if they cut his hair. :tape:

I can't stand Vanessa and I thought it a little out of character for Rico to cheat like he did. I've been enjoying Rico and David's relationship talks lately.

I must admit that Vanessa's abuse of prescription drugs came out of nowhere for me. She's a trained nurse and I know that health-care professionals have a high chance of using drugs (simply cos they are so readily available) but it seems like one day Vanessa was doing her usual thing, raising her noisy brats and all, and the next day she's losing the plot. Also, I hate her sister; she's just horrible!

Ps I was also surprised by Rico's cheating. Very disappointed in him!

Oh yeah I forgot about her using drugs...Yeah that's one area that Allen Ball seems to be floundering at. However, I loved the backstory they wrote for Rico with his father's death and meeting Mr. Fisher and stuff.

I sort have forgotten some of the plots, too. Federico took a dance class and I think he got a blow job or something in a car from one of the women in the class, but for some reason I think she was a lot older. Vanessa wouldn't do the dance class or something. Actually, Federico's cheating made me like him a little more, finally some depth to his character.

NO!!! LOL. Ruth is what the show needs. I love her SPUNK. You got to understand her character and what she's been dealing with...the lonliness vs. the wanting.
It's awsome character writing.

Claire...what can i say about my favorite. She intrigues me so much, I hang to her every move and story line. I am wondering if she's gonna carry this baby...but i think she and brenda went to the abortion clinic...can't clearly remember it's been so damn long.

She's not really good looking or young looking, yet all these guys are after her? Right, I think that actress must have screwed the producer or they are trying to tell us that old looking unattractive women can still land guys, or something. I liked the Kathy Bates character, maybe she'll come back, Kathy Bates has directed some of them! I think she directed the one with the porn star who died and they had to put a can of tuna under one of her tits, and her porn friends showed up at the funeral and talked about the dp's, I loved that one.

Federico cheated with a stripper? I thought it was someone from dance class, but I don't remember the plot that well, except the blow job in the car, who could forget! They are starting to show re-runs so I figured a new season was coming up. I can't wait!

I love Ruth as well; who can forget her shouting "I just want intimacy" at her children. I sometimes cringe when I watch her clumsy attempts to bond with them. What I really want to have happen is that Keith and David get into some bondage/pain sex routine with Keith as the "top." Then Keith goes too far and sort of hurts David. Then Keith genuinely feels all bad about it because he's not a violent guy, but David admits he liked it rough and likes getting hurt. Then they can have endless discussions about what it all meant. I think their relationship is sort of stagnating a little. Maybe they need a gay writer to come in or something, their relationship is getting dull like they don't know what to do with them. The whole interracial and gay thing has sort of run its "shock" course, they need to do more with these characters, imo.

Claire and lasting love?? I can't even imagine Claire in a healthy relationship. I mean this is the girl who put an amputated foot in a guy's locker at school! Eeek! Last season I thought that that artist/fellow student bisexual and angst-driven boyfriend of hers was going to commit suicide after she dumped him. But I suppose the writers can't have 2 ex-boyfriends committing suicide on Claire-- that would be just too bizzare!

but that's exactly why i like the whole keith and david storyline and the way it's developed. because after you've dealt with the whole interracial and gay thing, you have a relationship like any other relationship. i like the fact that race and sexuality have become just ONE of the issues that david and keith are trying to work out because i think that's more realistic.

this is why I like their relationship as well. The fact that they're gay is not the beginning and end of their relationship story. It's a part but there are so many layers. It is showing to the general public that all relationships go through the same push and pull of emotional gymnastics.

I really liked the first episode. As much as I loooove Lili Taylor, I am too glad to see Lisa gone. I didn't buy her relationship with Nate. How can he be so devastated when it was clearly obvious he didn't love her ? Of course, he must feel guilty.....but it felt a bit over-the-top to me....

Claire is just amazing. I love her ! And when will Keith realize that he has a wonderful guy in his life ????

I think that was where the grief was coming from, Nate's guilt over the fact that Lisa loved him completely and he never felt that way about her. Also, he was feeling guilty about sleeping around while she was missing and then running straight to Brenda and managing to find a way to put his penis in her as well. ;) I didn't see it as a I loved my wife so much grief as I did a I didn't appreciate what I had grief.

what makes you think Keith doesn't realize he has a wonderful guy in his life? I think he does it doesn't mean he can just change all his personality traits overnight though.

season opener was awesome- i just really love how Claire's adolescent angst in protrayed. I was glad they dealt with her ex and the abortion. I always empathize with guys because they are so disempowered in those types of situations. I am not sure about David & Keith but we'll see...
The scene between Claire and Russell was awesome. I felt so bad for Russell. I loved how they finally let Claire back off and realize it was his right to be upset about it. The season Opener was da bomb!

and rockie . i agree with you regarding nate's grief . he never really loved her in that way . twas all a matter of convenience with her . i think he tried to love her and tried to change . but thats just not HIM . dyou think he still has feelings for brenda?

i love how the characters are growing and unfolding right afore our eyes

Gosh DL, I'm not sure what I feel about Nate and Brenda? I was kind of like mad at him for the way he was treating her, come here go away kind of thing. Which maybe that means he does still love her that's why he gets so mad at himself when he runs to her.

David and Keith were sweet. When Keith handed David the remote I went :awww: he's trying that was a big step cause Keith is a remote control freak. ;)

I died laughing at the scene when David heard Ruth and George. That was hilarious. The face that David made was priceless.

i was watching some episodes of season two the other day . and nate and brenda were really fucked up to each other . i guess after all this time i had forgotten how selfish they both are . i think deep down they both still love each other, but maybe realize it will never work out ... atleast nate does now .

what do you think of brenda's new man, joe? i like him but he reminds me of this man-whore im talking to now . same personality and everything

keith is soooooo cute at his new job

Yeah, Nate and Brenda definately fell in-sick and not in-love... Well that's what happens to all the family members on this show. I mean yeah a relationship is a little fucked up if one of the people are dying but can't/won't tell their significant other and then sleeps with an old fuck buddy because the stress got to high and of course contributing to the stress is the other partner's foray into anonymous sex. :tape:

I don't dislike him. I think he's a means to an end which is to get Brenda to realize she can have a semi-healthy relationship. However, looking at the previews I don't know how healthy he's actually going to be....I'm thinking S&M, domantrix kind of stuff? The preview might be skewed to make it seem that way though.

I saw my first complete eppy of the show today (I had previously seen bits and pieces from each season) and I'm hooked. I'll definitely be tuning in every week now.

The mother (sorry, forgot her character's name) won the Emmy, didn't she? That surprises me because I didn't think she was anything special. Almost robotic. Maybe last night's episode wasn't a good episode for me to judge her on.

And that blondie at the poetry club, isn't that what'shername from American Beauty? She was funny.

I agree Keith was just hot this whole episode. That interview was hilarious. That supervisor, the black dude is so funny with his seriousness.

I felt bad for Keith, it was his first day and he was nervous and felt out of place and these two nimrods steady talking about women. He felt like if he didn't say something he would have to say something if you know what I mean.

I think he wanted to feel bad, I think he did not like it in the least hence the questions, "Was he white?", "Did you reciprocate?"...They had only been back together for 3 months and remember Keith is working to keep David so he probably feels like he has to open up his thinking like they talked about in the last episode.

I'll let you know what David & Keith faithful feel about it.

So what should he be doing, getting blow jobs from strangers to show his love?

I mean he expressed his feelings, gone to get therapy, flew to Las Vegas to bail David out cause he picked up a prostitute when they weren't together, went to his church to support him when he was being made a deacon, tolerated the 'ladies brunch', kept Claire and David's business out of trouble when she decided to steal a foot and put it in someone's locker and many other things if I put my mind to it... You're right he certainly doesn't act like he cares much...:o

Tennisfan-Mtl-- I don't mean to be defensive but that is something I think I see a lot and that's people don't really see Keith because David is the prominant character. People tend to overlook the good things Keith has done or said and certainly overlook all the bad that David has done until it's just Keith - BAD; David - GOOD. I just don't think that's the dynamic of their relationship at all.

I was really disappointed in the season premier, I thought it was lousy. I liked the second episode a lot. I hate the pig-man. I think it's his kids who sent the poop, he's vague about them and no one showed up for the wedding. Plus, he's a pseudo-intellectual, the worse possible kind. There's a few like that on this board who will remain nameless. The poop was funny as hell, though, I have to remember that one for future use.

SPOILER, I was reading the hbo boards, some people think maybe pig-boy is behind Lisa's death, like she figured out his fraud because she was smart. I don't buy it at all, she was so damn selfish, she would not have checked out pig-boy, but it's interesting to think about.

Did Peter Kraus-a get a hair weave? He had the dopiest looking hair for the last seaons. I hope he and Maya disappear, they both are totally annoying. Lisa's gone, can't they leave?

David's ex-girlfriend seems in a bad place with her fiance, and I can see Keith making it with "Celeste" (not me, the character) or a groupie to please his co-workers, or because he's star-struck. Just a thought.

I thought Ruth acted maturely with Pig-Man and that was a nice thing, and even I'm starting to think that hot dude is Brenda's real soul mate. Nate's losing it, and I still think he has a hair weave in real life. Look at old Cybill episodes.

I thought last night's episode was great! Do you think Keith and David will have "straight" affairs? David's ex-girlfriend seems in a bad place with her fiance, and I can see Keith making it with "Celeste" (not me, the character) or a groupie to please his co-workers, or because he's star-struck. Just a thought.

No, I don't see any kind of "affair" other than the ones they agreed to in the relationship happening between Keith and David.

I think Ruth needs to look Arthur up and apologize....

She was trying to make up for being an idiot to Arthur by taking George's son under her wing. I think she's in for a rollercoaster with George.

I think Brenda's man has more issues than her...he scares me...:scared:

and yeah Nate has issues too...:hehehe:

I also thought it was a great episode.

One question, though. What was the significance of that look between Celeste and Keith? I was reminded of it when Celeste, the poster, mentioned a possible affair between the two characters (not likely, but an interesting thought). Was it just that she was annoyed with him for using her bathroom or was it more a friendly look from her? I guess we'll see how her character and their relationship develops, if it does at all.

I love Claire. Favorite character by far. I'm not a big fan of Rico, although I think he's starting to realize his mistake and will soon break off this relationship/affair with the hooker. He has to see that he is being used and I don't think he'll give her the money for the fake surgery.

See, I think maybe something will go on between Keith and Celeste, but what do I know? Maybe there's some thing where she sleeps with all the bodyguards and she starts to put the moves on him and he'll have to do it to "fit in" with the others to keep his cover, and he'll be star struck. I don't think we've seen the last of David's old girlfriend either. I loved that speech she gave to David. I think the stripper is going to start harassing Rico and he's going to have to tell Vanessa. It wasn't that big a deal, it was like one blowjob, it's not like he's doing booty calls with her. They always give Rico and Vanessa kind of short shrift.

What kind of disaster will Claire date this season (looking at Peter Facinelli from the third episode ... WOW ... major hunk)!

You know David was scared shitless as most people would be in that situation. He had in his mind that if he just did what the guy wanted him to do he would let him go. If you noticed although the guy lied continually David would still believe what he said.

 He is such a BITCH- i kept yelling- drive off, drive off:D My man said thats what he gets for being a slut:lol: I didn't see the beginning of the show (another late night meal out Rockie;) -these Sunday night dates have to stop:D )- i came in when he picked the guy at but i couldn't resist watching, so i have to catch the beginning tonight bit did the guy do this to him 'cause he is gay:confused: I'mn just wondering because i saw when he asked him if he was gay before he entered he van...anyway, for some reason i don't think that's the end of that guy, do you guys? I mean since he has his wallet etc.
Joy you need to eat earlier...

Ok, the guy did not know David was gay that whole sequence was a daydream by David but David is a horn dog. David picked him up to be kind that's all and he ended up a victim. When the guy hit him the first time poor David didn't know what hit him. He was so shell shocked.

Joy, you missed David's conversation with Keith in the beginning. All of David's insecurities were laid to bare. Keith couldn't reassure him that David is all he wants David kept saying what if Keith meets someone cuter, easier to live with and yadda yadda yadda. Keith told David if he asked him not to fornicate on the road he wouldn't but David couldn't do anything either...David didn't take him up on the offer....:tape:

This weeks episode had me rolling.......I was laughin so hard at Claire and her friends....Can you believe they had an orgy in her bed......Shame on HBO for making us think we were going to have carpet munching this week..... George and Ruth going at it had to be the highlight of the show for me.......Ahhhhhh Brenda could you not stay away from Nate for longer than 4 episodes. Maybe I should go shopping for some bedding I might have some life altering epiphany. Rico those chicken have come home to roost. tsk tsk. Anyone else thinks that Brenda is now pregnant?

I can't believe Ruth married someone she doesn't even know. This guy holds so much information about his life from her. I can understand how upset and frustrated she is.

So, will Claire display those pics of the blondie (sorry, can't remember her name) in front of class and be applauded for her work this time? I still like her apocalyptic photos, myself. But one thing upset me about Claire, my favorite character, in last night's episode. I thought that it was unfair of her to burden Nate with the funeral home business. I understand that David is having a difficult time dealing with his incident, but Nate is having a hard time dealing with life without his wife, and this was the first time he was finally feeling happy again! Still, a very selfless act by Nate.

Did anyone else think Nate would get with that girl who wanted to become a vet? Maybe he still will... she's cute. Unless he becomes serious with Brenda again, which I doubt.

Oh, Brenda. Not much else to say about her. She just can't get her life straightened out.

Yes brickhouse, I think Brenda might try to leave her boyfriend out of insecurity and committment problems, just to find out that she did indeed become pregnant with his baby. What a mess.

I was totally cracking up when Claire made thaat, "Well, I can't let just the women clean up...Now it's just the women and people of color cleaning up...See, Nate gets it" comments. Pure gold.

Question about last week's episode: Was that real that "asshole-man" gave David head in the car or was that in David's mind again? Cuz that confused me. It just seemed out of character for this guy who kept calling David a "f....." although maybe it was due to the crack. ;)

Claire figured it out in episode one when she saw David and Keith interacting. Nate found out when he ran into David/Keith having breakfast and David grabbed Keith's hand in front of Nate. Nate was with Brenda and when they left Nate said, "I think David's gay" and Brenda then responds, " I think David's lucky! Did you see that guy?".

At the end of season one and the Marc Foster funeral David sits down and tells Ruth although she has been suspecting for a while.

It was that episode where he dated Neely O'Hara (playing herself), the whole family knew immediately that he was gay, because Neely doesn't date any straight men, I mean, even the Fishers know that.

Thanks for clearing that up. :)
You're welcome! :)

Here's what I thought about the last issue...

David/Keith---David is clearly blaming himself for the incident. I get this feeling because of his "I lost the body" comment that he made to Keith. Keith is looking so fine these days.......but I digress..;) The scene when David tells Keith to go back on the tour was sweet. Keith was trying to get david to be honest with him about how he was really doing but David just can't be honest with himself yet. I cried during David's scene with Claire....something about MCH's expressions....I also cried when Nate came downstairs and just put his arm around David. Again the facial expressions of MCH just did me in. I cried twice people, well four times....I watched the show twice..:tape:

Claire----Stay away from drugs and the freaky people... Yuck, Russel, the skank, and the other guy threesome.... I wonder who Russell is really scamming on? ;) He seems to be scoping the girl but I don't think I believe it. That line at the dinner table about only the women clearing the table and now it's just the women and people of color was sooooooo funny....plus her Nate, he gets it line.

Ruth/George---Somebody shoot George! Please? Ruth is so going to regret her choice to rush into that marriage. :tears: The sad thing is she's probably going to cling to it with all her might because she'll be too embarrased to say she made a mistake. George is such a pompous ass.

Nate/Brenda---Brenda's such a committment phobe but in reality I think it's her inner self let her know on terms she'll understand that boring joe ain't the one for her. I'm glad Nate came down to help david he needs to get out of his head and thinking about himself so much but I'm sad it took Claire pointing out that David would do it for him before Nate realized it was the right thing to do.

 @ your crying. it was a very touching scene at the end, I agree. I'm glad Dabid was able to confess the true horrors that he went through. It was important that they understand.

Anyway, I'm not sure I agree about Nate's duty to return to the funeral home. It's true that he hasn't been there for his family recently but it's understandable that he needs to do some personal soul searching after his wife's death. And unlike David, Nate doesn't have a signifcant other to support him through his difficult time. But I guess Rico can't run the place alone  so Nate didn't have much of a choice if the business was to continue. Too bad Andrew (or whatever his name is) left.

well, you know im a pain in the ass. my friends joke and tell me thats my true calling... :)

i just dont like how it seems the writers are taking the easy way out and making the entire show very soapish. its always been packed with drama, but it was always real life drama. it just seems too melodramatic lately. and the usual memorable lines arent there.

my ex think nate's talking to brenda when he says "tell me what happened that night on the beach" or whatever. do you?

but didnt brenda run to nate the night taht lisa was killed and kiss him? was she not watching nathaniel and isabelle with billy [when he kissed her] earlier that night? maybe i am confusing a different episode. or maybe lisa didnt die on that exact night.

I agree that there are few memorable lines but I like that the humour is back this year...a couple episodes were very funny....

um, David biting the guys ear was hilarious....Keith letting him blow him was yuckkkkkkk! He was nasty looking laying on the bed trying to convince Keith to give him another call..

I knew Lisa's sister was crazy by the way she asked Nate for Maya's share of gas and hotel room but last episode just confirmed it. :o

Oh yeah, I forgot about Rico's issues. He's definitely going to have a rough time next season without his family, but he deserves this. Ad I have to say that some time apart might be good for both of them, considering how long they've been together and that they haven't experienced other relationships. It will be interesting to see if Vanessa goes through with this divorce or not.

As for the comedy this season, I ahve to say that I loved that scene where Vanessa and her sister went to beat up that bitch Sophia. The "Let's go pick up the kids from school" (or something like that) line after they trashed her car was classic!

Btw, who do you think that woman is in George's visions? His first wife, perhaps?

And Russell is... blech. Hate him.
