Okay, so it's Martina Nejedly. (Made you look.) But she is a lefty named Martina N.
Anyone have the result of the match?

She just won the Women's Open division of the prestigious Ojai Tournament on Sunday. She skunked the competition including my girl Maureen Diaz in the final:(

Darn, Martina lost, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5. She was pissed, too. She felt she should have won. After a slow start, she won 8 of 9 games to sweep the 2nd set and take an early break lead in the 3rd.
That'll teach her to retire. Had she been playing tour-level competition regularly, even Tier V's, she'd have been sharp enough to win this match.

Martina  What a good effort though - She always had the potential, but she also said many times that her nerves are what really stopped her from going further.
I wish she'd give it another try and just go back and try it from a different perspective. She'd got nothing to really lose at this point so why worry? Just go out, hit the ball and show what you're made of Martina! :)
