... in general and this board been much more exciting since the fabulous return of VENUS :worship: & SERENA WILLIAMS:worship: ? :)

While they were gone I learned two computer languages and two operating systems, improved my serve, kept my cars polished, kept off this board and met many more new str, er, artful dancers.

But, now they are back and so am I.
However I am still playing tennis, taking photos, learning a new .NET language and meeting more new stri, er, friends.

Boy, now this board is exciting once again!:bounce:

Why is it that tennis players ,and tennis fans(not just Willyfans) share a common medical problem, blisters on the palms of their hands!

By the way, My Momma told Me the other day that some people only have five fingers on each hand! is this true?if so could lead to more blisters, less palm, more load,..... be harder to grab a sheep though!

it is indeed great to see the williams sisters back, but at the same time you shouldn't delude yourself into thinking that everyone else has the same level of excitement about your favourites coming back. the fact is that neither of them have competed in a match against the very top players (by no fault of their own) and thus there hasn't really been that much for people who are not their fans to get excited about in terms of increased quality of tennis.

i was probably the most excited i have been about tennis when patty made the aus open semis so i guess i would have to disagree with you.

it is definitely much better for the tour to have them back though

I certainly think their return makes your mouth water for the forthcoming Grand Slams (hoping of course that all the top 10 players are fit and playing). Now that is a very interesting prospect for the rest of 2004, dont ya think?

It definitely got more interesting with the sisters back and all.... but then Justine and Kim got injured/sick...
It would have been really interesting with the four of the being healthy.... :worship:

For now it is quite interesting to see how Venus and Serena battle their way back to the top, so I'll have to answer yes to your question

Last year was great too though, but it got a little boring in the end

I must admit that it did get sad when the Williams girls went down. But it is sad also with Kim, Justine, Jen and Chanda suffering through their injuries now.

I hear ya.Nothing can really intrigue me at the moment,so Venus can play the best tennis she can but at this moment I'm thinking/worrying more about Justines health.I must admit that I find the game extremely boring without Justine, but that's probably cuz I'm biased.

HUH?! Did you read the entire interview?! Steffi said that she wish she had a chance to play JHH. She also loves her game and admires what she has achieved.

As for tennis greats, when she was asked who on the tour can match her (Steffi's) achievements, she seems to mention Venus and Serena. I don't recall her naming anyone else?! I must say, as a tennis legend of legends...I tend a agree with Steffi!! :worship:

nope C#

ASP.Net is a subset of the .net framework.

it provides "some" of the classes used to write web applications, such as Reponse, Request, Server. you instantiate the classes within you code to create object that then you use to format the different pages in your application.
ASP.Net as the entire .net framework is language independent, you can use C#, VB.Net, managed C++ or j#, or any other language that targets the CLR (if you don't know what the CLR is you need to go back to basics :p)

True, .NET is a framework, that is why I learned VB/VB.NET first. :p

Couldn't that be a function of the matches you're watching?

Davenport-Petrova is obviously not going to be as exciting as El Anouyi-Federer. That's just a function of style. Venus vs Conchi last week was as exciting as Agassi-Federer last month. Amelie-Justine last month was great! Conversely, I can't imagine a scintillating Hantuchova-Dokic match.

The only match I can imagine never leaving the baseline and still being exciting is .. no, they leave the baseline. How about ... no, not that either. Baseline tennis, effective as it is, is not that exciting to watch. Mix in a few drop shot and some net rushes, and that's a whole 'nother matter.

Well, no Kim or Justine in Warsaw and now Maggie is out. Exciting half final or even final??? No way this tournament is history for me till next year, Venus or not! Her matches are boring, no suspence, frankly for most of the players she is just too good, and so is Serena.

maccardel
May 2nd, 2004, 12:25 AM
I think with Kim coming back then it gets exciting, but a venus/kim matchup is not the same as a Serena/Justine matchup. To add to the mix, Amelie, Lindsay, Chanda and hopefully Monica, you couldn't ask for a better lineup. Lets hope Monica and Jennifer get back into form before the hardcourt season, then the USopen would be the main event of the year with some of the best matches ever. Imagine the russians, and the the current top 10 all healthy? Can you imagine how the good matches would start from the third round and up? If only they all stay healthy at the same time.

Kudos to Space eef03!! He is obviously not a V or S fan.

His post above speaks the TRUTH.

If Venus or Serena is ON, The other players are TOAST.

Exceptions ae Justine, Jennifer, and the occasional lower ranked player that catches V or S off their "A" game.

This is the TRUTH that so many just do not want to acknowledge.
