I was reading in the Times today that after her skeleton race an official came up to her and said "welldone, that was the only medal on offer today"
The offcials made her wait as long as possible because it was snowing and would slow down the track and her time, and just before the two Americans went they cleaned the run to clear the snow and make it quicker.
Along with all the things that keep going on, I haven't been at all impressed by this Olympics.
I've heard this story and lots of others like this around 100 times in past two weeks.
Not the least bit suprised

i mean its not that bad they cleared snow.. its just like when people ice skate or speed skate is it "cheating" when the zamboni (sp  ) just gets finished going over it and the order in which they state??

Hmmm guess some people thought it's the US games and not the olympic games.
Fact is that these olympics leave a sour taste regarding certain results
Halfpipe men (where had the juges their eyes when that finnish and italian guy made their second runs??)
Figure skating.... (been disscussed enough)
skeleton as mentioned
Bobslege (last run hmmm what a coincidence that the ppl forgot to clean the run before Annen's departure.... - he's team was always the fastest at the start and was now behind 0.11 sec..... oh do I have to mention that the two american bobs were in the lead??)
Short trak at least god gave the right answer there...
At least the public was great giving respect to every competitor even when they failed best shown to Evelyn Leu who couldn't stand her to jumps at the ski freestyle but the public aknowleged the fact that she showed the most difficult ones (the same ones she showed during qualies where she set a new world record 203.something points)

It doesn't matter....the Americans could go winless in the Olympics and there would still be a conspiracy.

Unbelievable! The Americans had to cheat, no way our athletes could have won any medals. Notice the people that are accusing the Americans of cheating are those countries that didn't medal.

She (Alex - the British bronze medalist) confirmed this in a live interview with the BBC yesterday, and, apparently, the US are putting themselves second behind Germany as they have won more medals than Norway, but the countries have always been listed by the number of golds in the past i.e. the US is below tiny Norway.
And before anyone reminds me that GB only won 3 medals, don't bother as I am not the least bit patriotic and couldn't care either way.

"Notice the people that are accusing the Americans of cheating are those countries that didn't medal."
ACTUALLY - most of the people in this thread that have messaged so far, come form countries that DID medal.

Yes, the Americans cheat. Is this news?
How did the Koreans do in Boxing in 1988? Surprisingly well.
Host countries cheat.
What bothers me is countries (like America) who have their atletes fail drug tests at home, and hush it up so they can make the Olympics. (See Marion Jones husband, whatshisface )
