Just saw this on her website. Maybe this means that she'll be able to play one tournament before the FO. Anyway, good to see she's getting better.

Justine recovers slowly...
28/04/2004:

It’s already been two weeks since Justine’s last tournament. The number one of the world is feeling a bit better and is recovering slowly. She practised a little bit on Tuesday but “very very calm” her husband says. It’s not sure yet when she can practise a 100% again.

More news about Justine’s health will be given next week when the results of her last test will bring more clearness in the Henin-Hardenne clan.

Everytime I try to visit that Justine website, my browser crashes. Is her website also infected by virus? ;)

I seriously doubt she will play any tournaments before RG. I wouldn't be completely surprised if she wasn't ready for RG either but lets hope she can recover quickly.

I think she'll be at RG, how she will play remains to be seen.

She'll have to be near death to not play Roland Garros, but mono DOES make you feel close to death. Hurry back, Justine!

I predict she'll use Strasbourg As A warmup; even a chance Re. Rome instead.

I'm sure she'll be 100% @ the French(=), and I think she's doing exactly what any real competitor would do in her situation.

Normally she should have taken (or maybe she already has) taken some bloodtests. She will base her decision to play RG on those bloodtests.I've read in a newspaper that she'll take the decision Saturday,so I'm really anxious at this point. ;)

Just be careful, and don't come back too soon and relapse. You're young enough to win RG three more times, even if you miss this one. Relapse, and you miss Wimbledon, which you HAVEN'T yet won.

That woman is driven. She must be aiming to come back sooner rather than later if she's on the court again after only about a week and a half.

Still, good that she feels that way as long as she doesn't overdo it.

IMO, there's "Just" no way she'll return starting with RG (even facing a low ranked player, it could be a Q who's in match form). Besides her own Kapros Komeuppance (I know, Juju was sick) Serena and Jen could tell you about the danger in Slam first rounds, taking 2 recent cases. The Strasbourg list is decent @ The Top as per that section on this board:

4 USA DAVENPORT, LINDSAY F 1
10 JPN SUGIYAMA, AI F 2
16 ITA FARINA ELIA, SILVIA F 3
22 ITA SCHIAVONE, FRANCESCA F 4
27 FRA LOIT, EMILIE F 5
28 CRO SPREM, KAROLINA F 6
30 RUS BOVINA, ELENA F 7
32 SLO 1 PISNIK, TINA F 8
36 ESP 1 SANCHEZ LORENZO, MARIA F 9
41 JPN OBATA, SAORI F 10
42 USA SHAUGHNESSY, MEGHANN F 11
44 PUR 1 BRANDI, KRISTINA F 12
49 JPN ASAGOE, SHINOBU F 13
51 USA GRANVILLE, LAURA F 14
54 JPN 1 MORIGAMI, AKIKO F 15
55 AUT 1 SCHETT, BARBARA F 16
58 ESP 1 PARRA, ARANTXA F 17
62 LUX 1 SCHAUL, CLAUDINE F 18
63 SLO 1 SREBOTNIK, KATARINA F 19
66 USA HARKLEROAD, ASHLEY F 20
73 FRA 1 BARTOLI, MARION F 21

esp. with Tammy replacing Bovina, so it could be an OK warmup. I think Rome would be pushing it, though of course that allows an extra week off B4 the big show.

But Knizzle,

You're forgetting who's at the top now!! The last time they played I believe was 1 year and a few months ago....so it will definately be a helluva different scenario.

Can't wait for Justine to take her second French Open Crown!!!
