She just had so much character, and a personality perfect for tennis. She kept things interesting, and really represented the WTA tour well.

I never thought I would get into the Hingis missing this bad, but she was great.
:p

*sorry for another "I miss Hingis thread*

She's retired, not deceased.

Is the glass half empty or half full ?

I've been watching old matches lately. She was just so good. Never missing. Cliff Drysdale once said "You know if Hingis gets her racket on the ball you are going to have to hit another shot, because she doesn't miss".

I miss her too.

I really really have been missing Hingis, she played great tennis and I liked her personality.

But hey...if she felt like her time had come...then all the more power to her. :)

she was the perfect player :)
Who later became the perfect punching bag, because she never stepped up her game...improved her serve...put some punch into her strokes, attacked the net. She lost her will and determination somewhere along the way, and it had nothing to do w/her feet/ankles.

It was so frustrating watching the 00/01/02 A.O. finals.

if it's frustrating, dont watch her. it's not a very hard thing to do.

I did not like Hingis when she was on the tour most the times.
But she is surely missed.
The anticipation that she gave when she played a Williams will possibly never be duplicated. I looked forward to those matches like no other.
But she is pursuing eduation, etc... her other loves, and to know that she left the game healthy, in terms of being able to do ordinary things, should be an ease to her fans.

We all miss her.
And if she would be back, we would all hate her in no time.

But boy, was it good to hate her. Even though she was beating your faves over and over again, she did it with some fabulous tennis.
