the semis will probably be Mauresmo/Kuznetsova and Zvonareva/Williams, which is unfortunate because they are the top four seeds and i need upsets to survive.

Kuznetsova remember won the clay court event in Helsinki 02 as a qualifer so has great clay court experience - I wouldn't put it past her

I think Patty Schnyder will be the one with the best chance of upsetting Venus!
Finally someone whos realistic!Patty has a chance of beating Venus!But only a very small one!Venus was very rusty at the beginning of the season due to her injuries!But after Charleston and Fed Cup she seems to be in shape again!Thought Patty has a chance I think Venus will win that match in 2 if it comes up!

Maleeva is one of the very, very few active players with a winning record vs Venus. But ALL of the victories were indoors on carpet.

Looks to me like things are trending to Venus. She lost in a 3rd set tie-breaker the last time they played on carpet, and bageled her the last time on hard courts.
