View Full Version : VENUS may have more CLAY COURT victries than JHH by May 2

According to the current ITF records JHH has 66 clay court wins and VENUS has 63 dirt court victories.

How ironic, VENUS may have more clay court victories than a clay court mistress in less about a week. :)

Good to see that the goddess has acquired an all court game. :)

You know who puts them all to shame? Silvia Farina Elia with 143 :hearts: ;)

In this case you can't compare the two, especially with the number of years played on the tour...I guess a better indication is what titles on clay they have won...I think that about sums it up.

Yes, its great to see Venus winning again...but its all put up or shut up when it comes to the French Open...ask Amelie for the past x amount of years ;)

Can you provide any ACTUAL STATISTICS to back that up?

For example, how about posting each player's Win/Loss record on clay?

Justine has 5 clay titles. 1 tier 4, 3 tier 1, and 1 RG

Venus has 5 clay titles. 2 tier 1 and 3 tier 2.

Hey, how many clay wins does Serena have? It's probably less than Venus and JHH, but guess what, Serena and JHH both have French Open titles....does Venus?

Justine has played only 1 more match on clay than Venus. Justine is 66-14 or 82.5%. Venus is 63-16 or 79.7%.

Justine has 4 clay titles. 3 tier 1 and 1 RG.

Not necessarily. Justine probably has played several more clay court tournaments than Venus. Plus she accumulated her matches over a shorter period of time than Venus. On average she played on clay alot more than Venus.

Please, the way some people talk about Justine being so great on clay, you'd think nobody could come close to touching her on the stuff. Which clearly these stats prove wrong.

Sorry, I tried but the Grammar Nazi in me just couldn't resist. Here we go:

Quit- a verb, meaning to give up and leave.
Quite- adverb, meaning actually, really, totally, rather etc
Quiet- an adjective referring to a low level of noise or absence of noise.

All,

LOL - TeeRexx. How you be?

I agree that Venus is on one serious roll. What is their head to head on clay?

Anyway - I think whilst Venus is healthy and what not - and some 'moe stuff - she should keep rolling. Venus won't return home until after the French. So whilst she is on this French Roll - she might as well continue it.

Besides - my girl is healthy now - and this is the time to pounce - bounce - rock and roll.

Acutally, we area ll forgetting about Justine playing many, and I mean MANY, clay court tournaments in the challenger events. Which, with those tournaments, she has over 90 wins, which is about half more of her total on the WTA tour, not to mention her losses.

Justine has played a tons more on the dirt than Venus, who didn't play any challengers on the dirt level.

I also wonder if one of the Sisters will be clutching and holding up the "Venus RoseWater Dish", this year. Here's hoping it's "Planet Venus", once again - holding it UP!

2001 Berlin Red clay 16 Justine HENIN-HARDENNE 6-1 6-4
2002 Amelia Island Greenclay FR Venus WILLIAMS 6-2 5-7 6-7(5)
