It's worth it if you have broadband internet and your Internet provider supports X-box live. Playing online is where the depth of the game really comes out.

I didn't get any e-mails from you. I haven't been on in awhile.

wait, does that mean I have to call my broadband company to find out??

I have to wait freakin 1 hour before the music stops and a human picks up...

But how does X-Box live work??

U connect ur modem to ur X-Box as if it were a computer?
Then what from there?

You shouldn't have to call your cable company, just check the X-box live website or your cable company's website and it should be one of those two places.

X-box live works just like you say. You can sign up for it through your X-box system. You need a credit or debit card though.

Yes it costs extra, I think it's 5.95 a month, but if you buy the game new then you will get 2 months free inside the box.

hmmm, I've been doing some calculations, and to buy the xbox, the the "top spin" game, then the xbox live kit, plus 6 bucks a month, that comes up to ALOT of money! :o

You don't HAVE to buy the x-box live kit. It's not required for X-box live to work. The live kit comes with a headset to communicate online and 1 year of x-box live service which means you won't have to pay the 5.95 a month for a year.

I won an xbox with 2 games and 2 free months of xbox live. :)

I bought topspin, and I like it alot but I don't think I will go live.

Anyways, here's a link to a free Xbox nation magazine, could give some useful tips while game playing, U.S. residents only:

These magazine do come.

If you arent going live and if you are just playing the computer in Exhibition mode lets say, do players actually play like they do in real life? Like does Hewitt play like Hewitt in real life and Anna like Anna in real life? I hate it in like Tennis 2k2 when Serena is made out to like Navratilova :o

Hey, I've bought Top Spin two weeks ago, and it's really an amazing game! I've subscribed to XBOX live last week but it looks like there's hardly anyone online for women's tennis...

I've tried last night (so it was Friday evening in the USA) and nobody was there, and I found one person this afternoon to play an exhibition match (BTW I lost badly against Kim Clijsters, shame on me :o lol)

Yes, Hewitt plays like Hewitt, but they made him a bit too powerful. Same with Hingis.

No, it is not worth it if you are buying it just for this game. It is fun, but the career mode is rubbish and repetitive. Online is fun but still not worth buying the console. I am waiting for smash court tennis 2 for the ps2. If it is online and fun I might check it out. I have much more interest in getting a ps2 than an xbox.

The "risk shot" is too powerful on TopSpin. Sampras doesn't even serve and volley well. You can't attack slow second serves unless you hit a risk shot. There aren't enough players in the game, and the create a player mode is ridiculous!! The hair styles are sooo dumb!! Game play is okay, but the people who created TopSpin don't know enough about tennis it seems!! The next TopSpin game should have controls like Sega Tennis 2K2, but players like the new Smashcourt Tennis game! Venus should also be on the game with Serena as well!

I should also note that you need a solid broadband connection to play X-Box.

My DSL has slow upload, and some games lag really bad.

My general opinion about buying X-Box is that it's not worth it. Not enough original games.

If you are a good gammer, I would say that if you buy an Xbox then Live is a must. Why? Because eventually playing the computer becomes old, and very soon playing the game will become old. Having Live gives you the opportunity to play some tough and continually changing styles of opponents. This keeps the game interesting, and makes you want to continually get better, and better.

LOL, I know exaxtly what u mean. When u are playing someone like martina hingis, or elena dementieva, u cannot attack their wide second serves, coz when u hit the shot, i takes u way out of court, and when u get the return back, they smack it down the line, but there is a good way of getting ourself into the rally from this situation, and thats hit a slice down the line, this gives u time to recover back to the middle of the court.

If you want to win REALLY easily, make one of of ur skills (i think they are skills) "topspin", and just hit topspin crosscourts all the time.

I quite like creating a player, i have Andre as my male player, and Lindsay as my female one, I have one every single tournament with both of them, and have even one a few tournaments without dropping a point, so it can get a bit TOO easy after a while.

If you want to make the game more challenging, but u dont wana join up for x-box, invite ur mates round to play with you (you have to have more than one controllers though). I have a hell of a laugh sometimes, we normally play a doubles match, and its hilarious! Especially if were all pissed:tape: .

My friends hate tennis, so they wouldn't want to play. They're all a bunch of football players (north american that is) and they think tennis is a pussy sport!! I'm 16, so I don't have too many options with X-box Live as I want. My dad doesn't want to pay extra, although we have DSL. I know it would be WAY more fun with X-BOX live!!

When you get those cheap ass second serves, you gotta know where they are gonna hit it. pay attention to where they are standing when they are ready to hit the serve. if they are standing right on the T line, then they are serving it down the middle, but if they are standing on the far left/right, then they are gonna slice it out wide. attacking the serve down the middle is no problem. IF they are slicing it out wide, move yourself out wide as well and wait for that serve. then you either risk return it back for a winner or you play a topspin crosscourt shot and it should be a winner (but just in case run to the other side of the court if faster players get to it or if your shot wasn't good enough;) )
