Excellent stats from Venus. She started strugling on serve after Katarina held in the first set but at least she never lost serve. Good for her; excellent second serve stats.

Wow, great job Tina... she's been in terrible form this year, maybe this marks a turnaround for her.

Kata  but Venus :yeah:

I don't know who to support. I want Vee to win her matches, but I want Slovenia to win the whole thing. Hmm.

To be fair, Venus is injured as well with a sore knee, sore ankle and sore calf muscle, so she was probably not in her best for either.

Apr 24th, 2004, 01:44 PM
She was injured doing the match. Venus had already won the 1st set 6-1, and it was on serve with Katrina leading 2-1 on the second before she called for a trainner doing the break and left the court. She came back and did not win another game.

WilliamzX2
Apr 24th, 2004, 01:48 PM
even though she did not win another game..she came back was up 30-0 on her sereve and had game point to win it and got broken... next game she was up 40-0 Venus brought it to deuce then Kat had ADV twice and Venus fought hard for that game and broke on her second ADV..so they were both fighting out there...

so if Venus is still injured why is she still planning on playing Warsaw and GO.

I wished she would reconsider her schedule.

Good question. I'm sure Lisa is extremely tired, and Martina doesn't want to lose her 39-0 Fed Cup record!! Venus won't because she played singles and she has a tournament this week, so perphaps Granville?

Venus might play if she wish so,I think it will be an add to her game.Even though she committed to J&S cup,I think she will not play before wednesday,so she will have time to rest.

The US plays Austria in the quarterfinal round on July 10-11.

Because it is the week after Wimbeldon and days before the Bank of the West, I don't know who is going to play, especially if they play in Austria.

Afte a slow start, the team of Raymond/Navratilova defeted the team of Srebotnik/Krizan 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.

That means that Martina has a 40-0 record in Fed Cup play!

Congradulations to America for doing a great job:bounce: :worship: . Now make it 5-0 against Austria in July!

I would like to see Srebotnik having better results soon. She seems to be losing in the first round quite often. I guess once you get in a slump, you kind of forget how to win. She's a great player and I love to watch her.
