The Williams sisters have their own blimp (insert Richard Williams hot air joke here). ;)

most players fly economy on the cheapest flights they can get. many have to wait on standbye as you never can tell when u are gonna be finished the event. u may book a ticket for thursday, adn losoe in qualies on sunday, or lose the final in sunday. bith occassion wasted money (first on hotel, second having to take back generally non-returnable tickets and buy new ones)

gb players have a deal with a couple of specialised travel agents wheer they can get tranferable tickets easily

I am pretty sure most TOP 20ish players have it pretty easy with traveling and expenses..but..players..like..say AMY FRAZIER who do not even have a clothing contract ( hence her shirts looking so plain  ) and most players who play about 75% "K" events have it rough. These are the types of players that really have to budget there travel expenses into almost everything they do on tour.. I feel for these players..look a ta player like DRAKE who is 32/33 and ranked in the 130s..she will be lucky to break $50,000 this year..which really would be toooo bad if she did not have to pay for her travel expenses, coach, clothing etc... I think the WTA should workout a deal with some of the airlines an cover some of these expenses....maybe the tennis players below a certain rank or below a certain income at the end of the year should have to submit an expense report to get back some of that travel and clothing money.. :D

100% of players fly commercial airlines at some point in the year. Some of the lower ranked players for example 200 and below will sometimes rent a car in groups of three or 4 and travel to the next tournament.

I think some, especially the higher ranked players would be sponsored by, if there is one, the national airline (and their code-sharing partners), and if they are at all interested in free flights. Otherwise I am sure they would fly in Economy or business class (if they could afford it)....probably not first class.

HOWEVER, players of the other end of the spectrum would be lucky to gather enough money to pay for the trip unless they have a sponsor or their gov is willing to cover the expenses....which could be difficult for a less well-off/developing country.

I wish there are more for these players like what's suggested in the other thread.

It must be tough.

Pete Sampras used to charter a jet for his crew but not all the time. But the big stars will usually get their managment agents company jet. I.e. Williams sisters used to get flown occasionally by IMG, like Cappy and Lindsay, and Hingis, and Kournikova. I know after 9/11 Venus was flown by Reebok on their jet for a while. Because I was living in Boston and one of my friends dads worked for Reebok's headquarters in Boston, and they had to send a Jet because Reebok didn't want anything to possibly happen to her. But the sisters usually fly coach. As they always saw. Only top stars can afford business of first class, but most fly coach. But I think in 2000 or something Vee or Rena said they fly business for long flights like to AO, that is too long for coach. Or I thought I heard that. I know Monica flies coach, she always tries to get the cheapes flights as she said after she won Oklahoma City in 2000.

One gets carted around on either my horse drawn carriage with Jeeves or my special motorised scooter (one's hip is not what it was unfortunately).

I know that on the men's side Kafelnikov bought his own jet and Andre Agassi also.
