You never know in a Fed Cup tie, so why do you guys have to be unhappy while Jelena wins?

actually she didn't. arvidsson is sweden's number 1 player and first singles is always played second.

Sofia Arvidsson has beaten in Fed cup already Patty Schnyder and Ai Sugiyama which much better results in the year than what Jelena has in this one. And Hanna Nooni was lower last year when beating Antonella Serra-Zanetti.. but she is coming back from some injury.... Sofia is having bad year but in Fed Cup she is giving it all as always.

I'm sure Jelena didn't played bad, if not she would have lost. She's also giving it all. wd Dokic. :)

Exactly. Sofia has beaten a lot of good players, especially in Fed Cup where she seems to take her game to a new level.

Positive signs from Jelena that she kept fighting, wouldn't surprise me if Sofia was up in the 2nd set as well but Jelena kept fighting and managed to get the win.

As someone else has said a win is a win, and perhaps thats what she needs more then anything right now. But yes, I am dissapointed with the result, losing one set is forgivable (it happens) but being taken so close in others is not.

Arvidsson is a good/solid player, trust me.

5/7...7/5...6/3 is a WICKED GOOD WIN for dokic...

Dokic is known for hanging in the first set...then tanking the next if she loses the first...here she just lost the second set after a fight 5/7... u would think she'd be tired of fighting but she had spirit and came back to 7/5...then she played her tennis and won 6/3 :) yay

Of course it's nice that she fought, but she's still not the type of player that should struggle against someone like Arvidsson. Well done, anyway.

This is truly pathetic.
She won a match against really a nobody on the WTA, and barely.
And already there is talk she will become a champion.
LOL.
Dokic fans have always had a low standard, but this is the lowest ever.
At the speed she is going down, she will be losing to Alex even, on clay!

Dokic is not a lost case though. She can still lift her game to stay in the top 50.
Step One - get some therapy
Step Two - more therapy
Step Three - more therapy
Step Four - work on her fitness and serve
Step Five - therapy.

What a nut case.

Tomorrow Jelena will play against Sesil Karatancheva (who won her 3 singles), a good test for her!! :)
GO JELLY!!! I am glad you have won those match for us!!!!!

Jelena can do it! Sesil is in clouds right now. She thinks she is superstar ( she will be very soon, but not now) and Jelena has nothing to lose. She is already shaken by some bad results this year, but Sesil will be distressed if she loses to Dokic. Don't misunderstand me. Dokic is my no.1 player and i really like her and respect her, but she has to give a thought on this game, and win it. Jankovic will hopefuly beat Pironkova. I wish they finish in two so they wouldn't have to play doubles. Let's go girls :)

I read a report on that match in the newspapers, and apparently Sofia was playing great tennis, getting every ball back and not making errors, but Jelena managed to raise her level in the end of the 2nd set and win. Hopefully she'll beat Sesil tomorrow. :)

Since you hate Dokic so much, why do you always reply in the threads related to Jelena? ;) If you hate her, just take a hike and stop sending this kind of crap :fiery:
